Role Overview


We are seeking a for a lead software developer focusing on a high-volume high-availability transactional processing system currently written in a combination of technologies (C++, SQL, .Net, etc.). The ideal candidate would be experienced in high-volume back-end service implementation, comfortable learning existing code, and able to take the lead in a modernization effort to design and implement a plan to rewrite legacy parts of the system in modern architecture, while also supporting the existing legacy code.


Key Responsibilities
  • Research, analyze, and resolve reported software issues to ensure system stability and performance.
  • Work closely with Support and Product teams to address system issues and prioritize enhancements.
  • Design, develop, and deploy code updates to resolve issues or introduce new features.
  • Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and implement corrective measures to ensure availability and reliability.
  • Participate in design discussions and provide expert-level technical input on proposed system changes or enhancements.
  • Identify and recommend system improvements to enhance performance, scalability, and supportability.
  • Drive efforts to reduce technical debt and modernize legacy components, ensuring system sustainability.
  • Proactively contribute ideas for technical innovation, system enhancements, and operational efficiencies.


Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience developing and maintaining networking services using C# and C++.
  • 4+ years of experience working with high-availability, high-volume transactional processing services.
  • Expert in all of the following: C#, .Net, SQL, and C++ with the ability to work across multiple technologies.
  • Proven experience serving as a lead developer on medium to large-scale projects, driving design, development, and implementation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze system needs and provide design recommendations to improve product performance, scalability, and supportability.
  • Ability to independently work as a contributing member in a high-paced and focused team.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with competing deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to socialize ideas and influence decisions without direct authority.
  • Collaborative in nature with a strong desire to dig in and learn independently and as well as through asking questions.
