In this role, you will lead high-performing engineering teams responsible for delivering scalable, reliable features for a modern e-commerce platform. You will drive clarity amid shifting priorities, translating business goals into clear technical plans while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Working closely with Product, DevOps, QA, and Architecture, you will guide teams through complex initiatives and ensure disciplined, predictable delivery. This position requires a strong technical background, people-first leadership, and the ability to elevate both engineering practices and team capabilities. Your impact will be directly visible in platform stability, developer growth, and long-term product evolution.

Accountabilities:

·         Lead and develop engineering teams, establishing clear expectations, coaching talent, and supporting career progression.

·         Ensure disciplined delivery through sprint management, backlog upkeep, dependency coordination, and structured Agile practices.

·         Translate business objectives into executable technical plans in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

·         Drive improvements in security, scalability, reliability, performance, CI/CD practices, observability, documentation, and code quality.

·         Establish rhythm and accountability, remove blockers, balance workloads, and maintain alignment during fast-changing priorities.

·         Guide multi-team, high-visibility initiatives while coordinating diverse stakeholders and maintaining focus under pressure.

·         Conduct performance management, provide ongoing feedback, and support development planning for engineers.

·         Stay current with industry trends and champion continuous improvement across engineering processes and culture.

Requirements

·         5–8+ years of engineering experience, including 2+ years leading or managing software development teams.

·         Strong technical background with Node.js, React, and cloud infrastructure such as GCP (or transferable AWS/Azure experience).

·         Familiarity with GraphQL or similar API frameworks, and experience with CI/CD tools such as ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or CircleCI.

·         Proven success improving engineering practices across release management, code review culture, automation, and observability.

·         Solid understanding of secure coding principles and PCI compliance requirements.

·         Excellent communication and facilitation skills, able to bridge technical and non-technical discussions effectively.

·         Demonstrated ability to bring structure to complexity, align teams, and drive execution under pressure.

·         Strategic thinker with a collaborative mindset and strong ownership orientation.

·         Preferred experience with e-commerce platforms, distributed systems, high availability architectures, serverless or edge computing, and open-source contributions.
