Overview

Compassion's Fellowship program is a 9-month (September-May) opportunity for recent graduates and early career professionals to join innovative teams at Compassion in working on new and exciting projects in the organization. Fellows are entry-level contributors who are developed over these 9-months to be equipped to take the lead on projects in the future. Each Fellow is paired with a mentor who will offer them 1:1 coaching throughout this season with Compassion. They will also participate in various professional development opportunities such as conferences with other organizations, Q&A times with innovative Thought-Leaders at Compassion, and understanding their strengths and contributions in the workforce.

Compassion Ventures Group is seeking a software developer fellow to support the team with Compassion Community. This fellow will have experience using React Native and AWS to work on mobile apps.

Please Note: This is a remote, temporary position from August 2026 to May 2027.

What will you do?

  • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer.

  • Acts as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children. Understands Christ’s mandate to protect children. Commits to and prioritizes child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry. Abides by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Reports any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately supports responses to incidents if they occur.

  • Uphold and engage in Compassion’s core Cultural Behaviors.

  • Supports application software development services and technical assistance for existing architecture or new deployments. Gathers requirements for applications. Adheres to approved standards in software development.

  • Follows simple program logic for new applications or makes simple modifications to logic in existing applications.

  • Maintains software applications through simple coding, testing, including writing test plans, documentation, and implementation.

  • Follows strategies around existing technology products to ensure these products produce expected results and benefit to customers.

  • Provides technical support throughout the lifecycle of customer-specific technology based products. Primarily works with Cloud or Purchased applications.

  • Contributes to cross-functional project teams in the area of data process, data governance, and application systems.
