About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and versatile Full Stack Software Developer to join our innovative team, contributing to the development and enhancement of mission-critical insurance systems. The ideal candidate will possess expertise across the full technology stack, including front-end frameworks (i.e., REACT), data formats like JSON, and backend development with SQL and Azure integrations. Experience with CI/CD workflows and a solid understanding of policy administration platforms is preferred. This role offers the opportunity to build scalable solutions, streamline deployment processes, and support the evolution of technology within the insurance sector. At Mission, we rely heavily on low-code platforms not to simplify work – but to accelerate innovation and get solutions into users’ hands faster.

What You'll Do

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications across front-end, back-end, and SaaS systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Build responsive user interfaces using modern front-end technologies, as needed.
  • Assist in the development and management of APIs and data exchange formats using JSON.
  • Write efficient SQL queries and manage relational databases.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment.
  • Integrate applications with Microsoft Azure cloud services.
  • Ensure code quality through unit testing, code reviews, and adherence to best practices.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and support existing systems – including no code/low code platforms.
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and technical documentation.
  • Build and implement policy administration system core functionality, including but not limited to rating, forms, underwriting rules, dashboards, workflows, and billing/accounting functions.
  • Operate within Agile, Scrum, or SAFe frameworks to support iterative development and ensure alignment with evolving business needs.
  • Technical understanding across all of Mission’s core systems, ensuring systems are efficient, compliant, and accurate.

Required Qualifications

  • Proficiency in JavaScript, SQL, modern front-end frameworks and programming languages.
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs, Webhooks, and JSON for data interchange.
  • Experience with SQL and relational database design.
  • Familiarity with Azure cloud services and deployment strategies.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and workflows (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
  • Solid grasp of software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or equivalent from an accredited four-year college in computer science, information science, information technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in software development, technology analysis, or related role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly.
  • Self-driven and motivated.
  • Experience and comfort with low code/no code platforms.

Preferred Qualification

  • Certifications in relevant technologies or platforms.
  • Experience with modular and microservice based architecture.
  • Experience with Underwriting Workbenches and Automated Submission ingestion.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with Property & Casualty insurance.
  • Experience with Microsoft’s Power Platform.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience building AI / Machine Learning models.
  • Experience with Azure AI Foundry.
  • Experience with policy administration systems and insurance workflows.
  • Property and Casualty insurance experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Outstanding organizational, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to exceed deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
