Software Architect (Remote - US)

The Software Architect will play a pivotal role in designing and guiding complex software solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security across critical projects. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate business and technical requirements into robust architectures, overseeing development efforts, and mentoring engineering teams. You will evaluate technologies, frameworks, and third-party integrations to drive innovation while maintaining alignment with strategic goals. Accountabilities:

·         Lead analysis of project requirements and design of software architectures.

·         Drive selection of appropriate technologies, frameworks, and tools for projects.

·         Conduct and lead architectural reviews, providing expert guidance and oversight.

·         Plan software design and development for Java services, thin-client UIs, HTML5, REST/SOAP web services, SQL databases, and Linux environments.

·         Evaluate and integrate third-party software components, APIs, and services.

·         Document and communicate software architectures, ensuring alignment with project goals and standards.

·         Mentor and guide junior, mid-level, and senior software engineers in architectural best practices.

Requirements

·         U.S. Citizenship and eligibility for a U.S. DoD security clearance.

·         Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.

·         15+ years of demonstrated experience in software engineering and architecture.

·         Extensive knowledge of software design patterns, architectural concepts, and best practices.

·         Experience with DoD software engineering projects is highly desirable.

·         Strong leadership, mentoring, and team influence capabilities.

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to articulate complex concepts.

·         Proven track record of strategic vision in software architecture and innovation.
