As an SIU Field Investigator II, you will conduct in-depth investigations into suspicious or potentially fraudulent property insurance claims, contributing directly to the integrity of the claims process. You will work independently in the field, gathering evidence, conducting interviews, and collaborating with law enforcement or regulatory agencies when needed. The role requires careful analysis, ethical judgment, and clear reporting to ensure accurate recommendations to claims adjusters and management. You will support training initiatives, maintain industry knowledge, and serve as a trusted resource for identifying trends and mitigating fraud risks. This position offers a dynamic work environment with extensive fieldwork, travel, and the opportunity to make a tangible impact on fraud prevention and compliance.


  • Accountabilities
  • Conduct detailed field investigations of suspicious property insurance claims, including interviews, neighborhood canvassing, vendor inquiries, and asset verification.
  • Analyze claim documents, telephonic interviews, and data to identify potential fraud or unlawful activity.
  • Draft comprehensive investigative reports with recommendations for claims adjusters and management.
  • Support internal departments and independent investigation firms by identifying training needs and contributing to fraud awareness programs.
  • Maintain regular communication with claims management on emerging trends and investigative findings in the assigned territory.
  • Develop and maintain contacts with industry, federal, state, and local government agencies involved in fraud detection and prevention.
  • Assist legal teams with litigation or subrogation preparation, including witness skip tracing and evidence documentation.
  • Maintain technical competency through continuous fraud education and participation in industry seminars and regulatory meetings.

  • Requirements
  • Experience in SIU and/or investigative work in property/casualty claims.
  • Knowledge of Florida Statutes and Administrative Code.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to gather written and oral statements.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational, time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Professional demeanor characterized by integrity, good character, and mutual respect.
  • Willingness to travel 50–70% of the time.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Claims adjusting experience and 620 license.
  • Industry certifications (CIFI, CFE, FCLS).
  • Experience in criminal justice, investigations, or related fields.
  • Private Investigator certification.
  • Experience with evidence gathering, investigative reporting, and legal preparation.
  • Work Authorization:
  • Must have permanent U.S. work authorization; no sponsorship available.
