The Opportunity: Â The role is responsible for implementing crop underwriting business strategy by assisting with business development and growth through building relationships within assigned agencies and applying sound decision-making to underwrite business that contributes to a profitable portfolio.
• Location: While working hybrid (2 days/week) from our Topeka, Kansas office is preferred, fully remote candidates in any state in the Central (CST) time zone will also be considered. The work week schedule is
• Work Arrangement: This role has the ability to be fully remote, working Monday-Thursday for 8.25 hours/day and 4.5 hours each Friday.
• The starting salary range for this role is between $59,000-$89,000
Your New Role:
• Ensure complete and accurate policy processing activities by reviewing and/or data entry of applications, policy changes, actual production history (APH), acreage report (AR) written agreements, and gathering missing information, resolving inconsistencies and confirming next steps
•Print status reports and track policy cycle to completion, ensuring coverage continuation and avoiding late penalties
•Provide processing and support for claims and compliance departments and complete transactions within area of responsibility
•Review all written agreement documents before submission
•Track, monitor and route written agreements to ensure timely processing
•Correct errors and resolve issues with the FCIC Error Report
•Effectively answer requests for information regarding crop hail from key stakeholders
•Training of local department or provide training to other remote personnel, including agents. Mentor department staff on company and industry procedures.
•Specific duties as assigned by management due to regional specialty crops. Regional specialization perennial underwriter, master yield certification or other region skill specific to region.
•Assist with UAT testing for IT releases pertaining to processing
•Contribute to a positive work environment by demonstrating cultural expectations and influencing others to reward performance and value “can do” people, accountability, diversity and inclusion, flexibility, continuous improvement, collaboration, creativity and fun
•Utilize various resources to research and answer crop insurance questions
•Attend training sessions to continue to gain knowledge on crop insurance
•Provide exceptional customer service
•Meet deadlines established by RMA (Risk Management Agency) policies and procedures
Required Qualifications
• High School Diploma/GED
• 4 years relevant experience
Preferred Work Experience
• 4 years experience with Crop Insurance

• Broad working knowledge of crop insurance concepts
•Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
•Advanced working knowledge of terminology, function and fundamental capabilities of common computer, software, information and communication technology devices, components, and concepts
•Proficient with Easy Mapping, Easy Hail, On Base, Easy Quote and workflow
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
• Master Yield Certification desired

Compensation Package: The salary range for this role is provided above. This is the national range for location(s) listed. The salary offer will be decided based on the role's complexity, its location, and the candidate’s professional background, including their education and experience.
