Maze is a Series B-funded startup building the future of product research for modern teams. We're backed by some of the world's best funds and are a fully remote team working across 35+ countries.
Maze is the user research platform that empowers any company to build the right products faster, by making user insights available at the speed of product development.
We believe that companies that win are incorporating user insights at every stage of product development, where the organization is empowered to conduct research no matter what their maturity, and that Research can focus on high-value questions with the greatest impact.
Built for ease of use, Maze allows researchers, designers, and product managers to collect and share user insights when needed most, putting them at the center of every decision.
With Maze, companies can recruit the right participants effortlessly, conduct research autonomously, and analyze user insights that drive actual decisions.
Please note that this role is open exclusively to candidates based in the Eastern Time Zone within the United States. Due to the nature of our work and collaboration requirements, applications from other locations will not be considered. We appreciate your understanding and interest!
As a Senior Technical Recruiter at Maze, you will lead recruiting for roles across our Engineering, Product and Design departments. You will support hiring managers and their teams by helping them build out their recruiting capabilities, teaching them to leverage recruiting tools, interviewing techniques, and recruiting best practices through formal training and daily interactions. In this partnership, you will also work with hiring managers to design end-to-end recruiting strategies for their roles, help them find creative ways to source great talent, and guide them in building out robust, customized interview processes. You’ll be one of two Recruiters at Maze, and therefore, you will be asked to help out with non-technical roles as needed. You’re entrepreneurial, process oriented, collaborative and innovative in order to source and hire top talent and provide a unique candidate experience.Â
So what does that look like on a daily basis? Glad you asked! Let's take a look:Â
You log on in the morning to a full inbox – a candidate needs to reschedule, another one is excited to move forward, but you’re still anxiously waiting to hear back from the Engineering Manager you made an offer to yesterday! You go through your morning routine: reviewing inbound applications, looking at new profiles on various Engineering focused platforms, and making sure your pipelines are all updated in Ashby. Phew, inbox is at zero – for now.Â
You open up LinkedIn Recruiter and start a new search for Senior Full Stack Engineers who have experience with React and Node.js – there are 2 openings that you’ve been scouring profiles for the past 2 months, that needed to be filled yesterday. Â
You send InMails to everyone you’ve found, and realize it’s time for your first call of the day. Today isn’t too bad, you have 6 phone screens. Hopefully, at least 4 of them are quality, so you can move them forward to the hiring manager.  Â
There are 2 Engineers completing technical interviews today, meeting with the Engineering team via Zoom. Hopefully things go well, since the Engineering Managers are excited about both! Â
You’re on your 3rd call of the day now, and taking copious notes – this person seems like the perfect addition for our Product team. This role has been a tricky one to recruit for, as our team has a high bar, but you are determined to find the right person. You send a quick message over to the Director of Product to get them hyped. Feedback is submitted to Ashby, and you’re onto the next thing!Â
Time to check emails again, since you’re back up to 25 in your inbox. It looks like that Security Analyst is withdrawing, so you’re back to square 1 on that role. You block time off on your calendar for the next day to make sure you can spend more time on it. Â
The rest of your calls are finished up by now, so you check in with the Head of Design. You hear about a final round candidate absolutely breezing through their interview with our CEO. Yes! You send a message to the Director of Finance to get the final compensation approval, submit the offer in Ashby, and schedule the offer call for the next morning. Fingers crossed!
You take one final glance at your inbox and there’s the email - the Engineering Manager accepted your offer! You get a virtual high five from the CTO and remember why you do what you do. Sounds like a fun day, right? If so, let's chat.Â
You will manage the full-cycle recruiting process for our Engineering, Product, and Design (EPD) teams, from kick off calls with the hiring manager to offer acceptance.Â
You’ll collaborate closely with hiring managers, keeping an eye on backfills and target hire dates, acting as a strategic partner throughout the hiring process. You’ll collaboratively develop recruitment and sourcing strategies, and drive sourcing efforts to build strong candidate pipelines.
You'll manage the communication with our interview teams, keeping them on track at all times to ensure a smooth and timely hiring process. You will coach interviewers and hiring managers on best practices for interviewing candidates and submitting candidate feedback.
As the main point of contact for technical candidates at Maze, you play a crucial role in shaping our employer brand, helping us create a top notch experience for our candidates.Â
You’ll ensure the candidate pipeline is up to date and accurate at all times. Using Ashby, you’ll report on pipeline health and recruitment metrics in a data-driven manner, identifying areas for improvement and suggesting and implementing changes based on your analysis.
You'll develop strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the broader People team, hiring managers, Finance, and other cross-functional partners.
You have extensive experience in sourcing, engaging and hiring technical roles (Engineering, Product, Design), particularly within fast-growing, fully remote software companies. You quickly learn about new roles and can message to candidates what’s unique about Maze and our opportunities.Â
You're skilled at improving and scaling recruiting processes to make them more effective and efficient, including automation, reducing time-to-hire, or improving quality of hire while ensuring a top notch experience for candidates and hiring managers alike.Â
You excel in designing thoughtful and efficient candidate experiences, ensuring warm and effective communication with candidates and a seamless, personalized journey from initial contact to offer acceptance.
Your communication skills, both written and verbal, are exceptional.
You are experienced in working within an international, remote environment, showing reliability, attention to detail, and a strong follow-through on tasks.
You are an Ashby or Greenhouse pro and have a strong foundation in sourcing, allowing you to build nuanced and custom searches from scratch.
You are collaborative, sharing relevant information with fellow recruiters and the people team
You are data-driven and use metrics to guide and influence decisions.
You have a keen sense of urgency, know when to voice your opinions, and aren't afraid to highlight and fix issues in the recruitment process.
You are inspired by and aligned with our core values: Build fast, Beautiful always, Iterate everything, Informed by data, Embrace vulnerability and Human design.
A commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, and preferably, experience improving a previous employer’s diversity via specific recruiting strategies
At Maze, we are dedicated to building an equitable, inclusive, and authentic workspace. Unique and diverse perspectives are welcomed, and continuous growth is encouraged. We believe that people are more than their resumes, so if your past experience looks different than the criteria listed, we'd still love to hear from you. We appreciate and celebrate non-traditional life routes and encourage you to apply should you connect with a job description or the Maze culture.Â
Maze values transparency and it enables us to approach compensation equitably across the world. We are informed by data and regularly check our salary ranges (either United States or Rest of World) against other venture backed companies. Additionally, we are proud of our holistic and generous benefits offerings, included in every compensation package.
We typically target the low - mid point of the salary range to allow room for growth within the role. Your salary is dependent upon many factors, including years of experience, expertise, etc. During your first interview, you can expect to have an open conversation with your recruiter regarding your compensation expectations.
Early-stage startup: You will join an early-stage startup with less than 150 team members. This means you'll have the unique opportunity to directly impact success and help shape the future of Maze.
Market disruption: We believe that the way companies build products is fundamentally broken and the user research market is ripe for disruption. For too long, companies have been forced to choose between rapid development without user insights or investing months into research before bringing products to market. But there's finally a groundswell building around a path forward that eliminates this compromise - and Maze is leading the charge.
Product-market Fit: Maze is used by 100,000+ brands across 4,000 companies, from SMB to enterprises, and in the last fiscal year, we saw 6.5M questions answered, supporting 25K decisions
