Job Overview:
As a Senior Tax Accountant, you’ll play a key role in reviewing tax returns, guiding clients, and supporting our bookkeeping and tax teams. You’ll work directly with dental and medical practice owners, providing tax planning, quarterly financial reviews, and proactive advisory support — all in a fully remote, technology-driven setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct first-level technical reviews of business (S-Corp, Partnership) and individual tax returns and supporting workpapers.
- Review monthly bookkeeping prepared by the internal team to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Meet quarterly with clients (virtually) to review books, discuss tax planning, and make officer payroll updates.
- Prepare and review complex tax returns involving depreciation schedules, cost segregation, or practice acquisitions (Form 8594, 3115, etc.).
- Provide daily responses to client emails and inquiries, maintaining excellent communication and timely follow-up (within 24–48 hours).
- Use QuickBooks Online and Intuit ProConnect Tax Software (no prior ProConnect experience required; training provided).
- Collaborate closely with the tax and bookkeeping teams to ensure accurate, efficient workflows.
- Research complex tax issues related to dental and medical practices and propose innovative solutions.
- Stay up to date with tax laws, technology, and AI-based tools to enhance accuracy, productivity, and client service.
- Mentor and support junior staff with ongoing feedback and knowledge sharing.

- Accuracy and timeliness of deliverables and workpapers, particularly during peak deadlines.
- Client satisfaction and responsiveness scores.
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and maintain quality under increased workload during tax season.
- Development of technical skills and use of technology to improve workflows.
- Positive contribution to team culture through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and reliability.

Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
- 3-5 recent years of experience preparing and reviewing 1040, 1065, and 1120-S tax returns.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and QuickBooks Online.
- Experience with dental and medical clients preferred.
- CPA or EA certification preferred but not required.
