This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of IonQ. We are currently looking for a Senior Staff Technical Program Manager - Quantum OS in United States.

As a Senior Staff Technical Program Manager, you will lead cross-functional efforts to develop and deliver software for next-generation quantum computing systems. You will orchestrate the execution of complex projects across hardware and software teams, ensuring alignment with business objectives, integration milestones, and technical requirements. This role requires strategic oversight, hands-on problem solving, and collaboration with diverse technical stakeholders to drive innovative solutions in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. You will influence the design and delivery of Quantum Operating System software, helping to solve some of the world’s most challenging computational problems.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead program planning and execution for the Quantum Operating System software stack, aligning deliverables with business goals and multi-product timelines.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies while ensuring resources and project plans are in place.
  • Collaborate with other Technical Program Managers, engineers, and cross-functional teams to resolve critical issues and keep projects on track.
  • Provide situational leadership to teams, setting expectations, removing obstacles, assigning tasks, and managing schedules for complex initiatives.
  • Communicate program status, risks, and mitigation plans clearly and consistently to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Support integration of software into hardware systems, ensuring deliverables meet functional, quality, and security standards.
  • Travel up to 20% of the time to support onsite visits as required.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager delivering complex hardware/software products.
  • Degree in Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Proven track record in managing high-performing teams across complex projects such as quantum computing, robotics, aerospace, or autonomous vehicles.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with project management tools and methodologies, including Git/Hub, Jira/Confluence, Microsoft Project, or SmartSheet.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments and manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • PMP certification or related credential preferred.
  • Familiarity with quantum computing concepts, principles, and technologies is a plus.
  • Passion for cutting-edge technology and a desire to contribute to groundbreaking advancements.
