This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Solutions Delivery Architect in United States.

In this role, you will serve as a key technical authority responsible for designing, configuring, and supporting complex mainframe environments across large-scale client infrastructures. You will play a central role in client migrations, ensuring seamless replication of existing systems into enterprise data centers while maintaining performance, reliability, and operational continuity. Acting as both architect and escalation expert, you will resolve high-impact hardware issues and guide lifecycle upgrades across CPU, DASD, and tape systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, vendors, and client stakeholders to ensure architecture alignment and successful delivery outcomes. This position combines deep mainframe engineering expertise with solution design, requiring both strategic oversight and hands-on execution. It is ideal for a seasoned professional who thrives in complex, multi-client, mission-critical environments.

Accountabilities:
  • Design, define, and configure mainframe hardware environments, including HCD, IOCP, and IOGEN setups for enterprise systems.
  • Lead and support client migrations by replicating and validating complex mainframe environments in data center infrastructures.
  • Serve as escalation point for critical hardware issues including tape failures, DASD issues, and system connectivity problems.
  • Oversee mainframe hardware lifecycle activities, including upgrades to CPU, DASD, tape subsystems, and related infrastructure.
  • Evaluate proposed technical architectures for feasibility, scalability, and operational supportability.
  • Coordinate hardware maintenance events, MES implementations, and system updates across multiple client environments.
  • Collaborate with vendors, project managers, and account teams to ensure successful delivery of infrastructure solutions.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and configuration of resilient mainframe environments.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on hardware configuration best practices.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience working in z/OS environments supporting mainframe hardware (CPU, DASD, tape systems).
  • Strong expertise in HCD, IOCP, and system configuration across z/OS, z/VM, or z/VSE environments.
  • Experience leading mainframe migrations, hardware upgrades, and large-scale infrastructure implementations.
  • Deep understanding of IBM Z-series hardware, HMC, and support element operations.
  • Strong knowledge of mainframe networking, storage, and tape replication methodologies.
  • Experience with disaster recovery configurations and testing in multi-site environments.
  • Ability to evaluate and design supportable enterprise architecture solutions.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a structured problem-solving approach.
  • Proficiency with ITSM processes and tools, and familiarity with Excel, Visio, and project planning tools.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers and working with distributed global teams.
  • Familiarity with z/VM or z/Linux environments is a plus.

Benefits:

  • Annual salary range: $102,000 – $148,000 USD, depending on experience and location.
  • Eligibility for annual bonus program based on performance.
  • Equity participation through associate equity programs.
  • Unlimited paid time off and flexible work schedule.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance options.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match.
  • Paid parental leave, including childbearing and parental support.
  • Education reimbursement, student loan assistance, and 529 college savings support.
  • Wellness programs and sabbatical leave opportunities.
  • Flexible remote-first work arrangement with occasional client engagement as needed.
