This team’s mission is to build both the core execution engine and the web-based configuration & monitoring surface for our workflows processes. Our workflows engine enables our customers to service customer data requests (Delete My Data, Do not Sell, etc.), enforce data minimization/data retention policies, and propagate user preferences to downstream systems.</span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This is a remote, Exempt, Full Time</span><span style="font-weight: 400;"> position based in the United States. The successful candidate must have valid work authorization, as visa sponsorship is not available.</span><span style="font-weight: 400;"> This role reports directly to our Engineering Manager.</span></p><p> </p><p><strong>What you'll do </strong></p><ul><li><strong>Collaborate with product managers and designers to build business-critical features. <span style="font-weight: 400;">You will think critically about the implications of what you’re building, and how it relates to the overarching privacy goals of our customers. </span></strong></li><li><strong>Ship production-ready code that’s easy to iterate on.</strong><span style="font-weight: 400;"> You know what tests to write, what to log, what metrics to capture, and what alerts to set up.</span></li><li><strong>Work across the stack to deliver features:</strong><span style="font-weight: 400;"> Typescript, React, GraphQL, Node.js, PostgreSQL, AWS. If you work on the Consent & Preferences product lines, you’ll also get to work with native browser APIs and mobile SDKs.</span></li><li><strong>Participate in roadmap discussions and technical design reviews.<span style="font-weight: 400;"> Weigh in on trade-offs between performance, cost, reliability, and scale for services that are called millions of times per second.</span></strong></li><li><strong>Proactively fix production and development issues.<span style="font-weight: 400;"> Use metrics and observability tools to investigate problems and find root causes. Contribute to a culture of reflection and continuous improvement to better understand why development issues come up and how we can do better in the future.</span></strong></li></ul><p><strong>Who you are</strong></p><ul><li><strong>You have 4-6 years of experience in software engineering, with an emphasis on backend or full-stack development. <span style="font-weight: 400;">DevOps experience is a big plus!</span></strong></li><li><strong>You take charge of your own professional and technical learning. </strong><span style="font-weight: 400;">You know when to ask for help and when to try to solve a problem on your own.
