You will work across the tech stack, developing and refining both front-end and back-end systems, while integrating innovative AI-powered tools to improve software delivery. Accountabilities

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance software components and service APIs across front-end and back-end systems.
  • Collaborate with team members to solve technical challenges, troubleshoot production issues, and optimize system performance.
  • Apply design patterns and best practices to ensure high-quality, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
  • Integrate AI-powered tools and services, such as Cursor, Cline, or GitHub Copilot, to improve development efficiency and software quality.
  • Conduct code reviews, pair programming, and provide mentorship to strengthen team skills and maintain coding standards.
  • Communicate technical decisions effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, promoting collaboration and alignment.
  • Champion innovative solutions, identify opportunities for improvement, and contribute to systemic enhancements across projects.
  • Support engineering practices organization-wide, including recruitment, code challenges, and participation in communities of practice.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, working across complex architectures and multiple products.
  • Proficiency with multiple programming languages and automated testing tools.
  • Experience experimenting with or using AI tools to support software development.
  • Comfortable in Agile environments with self-organized, proactive work habits.
  • Strong decision-making skills with the ability to weigh trade-offs and implement pragmatic solutions.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and mentorship abilities.
  • Must have lived and worked in the U.S. for at least 3 of the last 5 years.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
  • Polyglot programming expertise, leveraging the strengths of multiple languages.
  • Knowledge of continuous integration/deployment systems like Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
  • Familiarity with the U.S. Web Design System.
  • Experience with government agencies and service to U.S. Veterans.
