In this role, you will contribute to the development of next-generation software supporting scientific research and publication. You will work within agile, cross-functional teams to design, build, and deploy scalable cloud-based applications while continuously integrating feedback from users and stakeholders. The position offers the opportunity to work on innovative solutions, including AI-enhanced features, and to shape technical architecture while mentoring colleagues. You will ensure high code quality, robust automation, and maintainable systems in a fast-moving environment. Accountabilities:
• Design, develop, and deploy applications within cloud-hosted distributed systems.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and provide feedback.
• Contribute to architectural decisions to ensure system stability, scalability, and performance.
• Mentor and support team members, sharing knowledge and best practices.
• Identify and implement enhancements to improve development and delivery processes.
• Maintain high-quality code through test-driven development, code reviews, and automation.
• Collaborate on AI and emerging technology initiatives to enhance software capabilities.
Requirements
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript or Java, with a willingness to learn additional languages.
• Experience with full-stack development, including front-end frameworks (React) and back-end systems.
• Familiarity with cloud-based development, CI/CD pipelines, and version control tools (Git).
• Knowledge of build tools, monitoring, logging, and alerting systems.
• Experience with test-driven development and mocking libraries.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively.
• Experience in mentoring or supporting team members in a development context.
• Desired: experience with AI-based solutions or modern development tools.
