As a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Data Infrastructure, you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and scaling the backbone of the company’s data ecosystem. This position offers the opportunity to impact data-driven decision-making across multiple teams by maintaining high-quality data pipelines, enabling machine learning workflows, and ensuring data integrity at scale. You will collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and product teams to optimize reporting, analytics, and operational efficiency. Working in a fast-paced and innovative environment, you will help shape the future of data infrastructure, applying cutting-edge technologies and best practices. This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on engineering, providing both challenge and influence across the organization.
· Design, build, and operate large-scale data infrastructure systems to store, aggregate, and process significant volumes of data.
· Develop and maintain ETL pipelines for analytics, product functionality, and machine learning initiatives.
· Build data platform-as-a-service solutions for internal stakeholders, ensuring data integrity, discoverability, and tagging standards.
· Collaborate with engineering, analytics, and product teams to shape the roadmap for scalable and maintainable data infrastructure.
· Establish governance and standards to maintain high-quality data warehouses and manage contributions from multiple teams.
· Optimize batch and streaming jobs to improve reporting latencies and performance.
· Evaluate and integrate new technologies or open-source frameworks to enhance data capabilities across the organization.
Requirements
· 5+ years of experience in data engineering, infrastructure, or analytics engineering roles.
· Strong proficiency with relational databases (Postgres/MySQL), dbt, and Airflow.
· Experience with cloud-native big data infrastructure on public cloud platforms (e.g., BigQuery, GCP Vertex AI).
· Ability to design effective data models for analytics and machine learning applications.
· Proven track record of maintaining and scaling data warehouses with contributions from multiple teams.
· Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and autonomous decision-making skills.
· Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Previous experience in fintech or startup environments.
· Familiarity with bookkeeping, taxes, or financial data systems relevant to self-employed users.
· Experience with feature stores supporting machine learning workflows (e.g., Chalk).
