Senior Software Engineer

The Senior Software Engineer will design and implement backend services, APIs, and data pipelines in a modern serverless AWS environment, ensuring robust, secure, and high-performance systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and operations, to deliver impactful solutions. This position offers the chance to solve complex technical challenges, influence system architecture, and contribute to AI-powered features. Accountabilities:

Design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems, APIs, ETL pipelines, and internal tools in a serverless AWS architecture
Implement and optimize data onboarding, eligibility workflows, and benefits policy administration processes
Write clean, maintainable, and testable code in TypeScript/Node.js and Python, following best practices and coding standards
Ensure system performance, reliability, and security using monitoring and observability tools like Datadog and CloudWatch
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, product teams, designers, and customer stakeholders to deliver high-impact solutions
Participate in Agile ceremonies, on-call rotations, and support CI/CD pipelines for continuous delivery
Contribute to system architecture decisions, technical documentation, and mentor junior developers

Requirements:

5+ years of hands-on experience with TypeScript/Node.js, Python, React, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, GraphQL, and REST APIs
Strong experience with AWS serverless technologies, including Lambda, Glue, S3, API Gateway, EventBridge, SQS, Secrets Manager, CDK, and Serverless Framework
Knowledge of ETL pipelines, CSV/API data ingestion, data transformation, and event-driven architectures
Proficiency in testing frameworks and tooling, including Jest, Pact, Cypress, Gherkin, and CI/CD pipelines
Experience integrating AI/LLM APIs and building AI-powered features such as virtual assistants, summarization tools, or RAG workflows
Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills with the ability to balance technical solutions with business goals
Passion for building products that enable workforce development and education outcomes
