We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and scale high-performance backend systems that power a fast-growing technology platform. This role focuses on ensuring seamless operations for critical services including payments, subscriptions, order tracking, and fulfillment. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, contribute to architecture decisions, mentor junior engineers, and implement robust, scalable solutions. - Accountabilities:
- Contribute to platform architecture and scalability, ensuring low latency, high availability, and secure operations.
- Build and maintain APIs and data pipelines connecting product, billing, and fulfillment systems for seamless integration.
- Collaborate with Product and Design teams to deliver features that enhance conversion, retention, and customer experience.
- Ensure data integrity and reliability across distributed systems with resilient workflows and monitoring.
- Partner with DevOps to automate deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure.
- Participate in code reviews, system design discussions, and technical documentation to maintain high engineering standards.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize backend services to handle increased traffic efficiently.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal frameworks, coding standards, and best practices.
- Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in backend or full-stack software development.
- Proficiency in one or more backend languages such as Go, Java, Python, or Node.js.
- Experience developing RESTful and event-driven microservices at scale.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases, message queues, and caching systems.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills in distributed systems.
- Commitment to writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
- Preferred: experience in e-commerce, subscription management, billing orchestration, checkout optimization, security best practices (PCI, SOC 2), CI/CD pipelines, observability tooling (Datadog, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry), infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation), and data modeling or asynchronous processing patterns.
