You’ll collaborate with a small team of senior engineers to ensure our systems scale effectively, our developer tooling boosts productivity, and our product initiatives launch to the delight of our customers.You’ll be expected to lead or contribute to frontend projects, but your core impact will come from shaping APIs, architecting data models, developing robust applications, and optimizing cloud infrastructure to ensure project success. Example projects include designing new access-control mechanisms to support custom roles and user groups, improving a batch-processing system for performance and maintainability, and introducing a new folder data model integrated into the frontend.What You'll Do: <ul><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems using Node.js and GCP.</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Build and optimize web and mobile applications using React and React Native.</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Architect and optimize infrastructure to handle large volumes of 3D user-generated data.</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Develop end-to-end features across frontend and backend, including identity, content, billing, and 3D collaboration tools.</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Oversee batch cluster management, including workload packaging, GPU/Mac orchestration, and integration improvements in a fast-moving AI environment.</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Drive testing and deployment infrastructure initiatives, supporting QA automation, CI/CD pipelines, and efficient release processes.</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Contribute to infrastructure evolution, including data migrations, storage provider transitions, and hosting improvements (e.g., Cloudflare, Firebase).</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate product requirements into technical solutions.</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Lead architecture discussions and guide key technical decisions across the stack.</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Design and enhance APIs for seamless communication between client applications and backend services.</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Model and maintain data structures, balancing scalability, simplicity, and performance.</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Deploy, monitor, and manage backend services on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), ensuring reliability and cost efficiency.</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve performance bottlenecks, system bugs, and technical challenges across the stack.</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team.</li></ul>What We're Looking For:<ul><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">8+ years of software engineering experience</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">4+ years of experience with backend services, such as Google Firebase</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">2+ years of experience developing frontend code with React and TypeScript</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">2+ years of experience working on a SaaS software product</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Extensive experience with database systems, both relational and NoSQL</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g. Terraform)</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Experience with containerization technologies (e.g. Docker)</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders</li></ul>Bonus Skills:<ul><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines</li></ul>Salary Range:The salary range for this position is $180,000 - $230,000. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining final salary- therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
