Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Software Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in PHP, with a specific focus on Laravel for building robust and scalable web applications. Familiarity with front-end technologies, particularly Vue.js, is preferred, though experience with other JavaScript frameworks is acceptable. The candidate should also have a background in containerized development and deployment processes.
UHIN is a non-profit Healthcare technology company that seeks to enable the seamless transfer of data between various stakeholders in the healthcare ecosystem. This is a position to support a new line of business with our affiliate Comagine Health. This role will work to build out the data architecture for various Comagine Health projects but will report to the Data Engineering Team at UHIN.
Qualifications - Education, Experience and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5 to 7+ years proven experience as a Software Engineer with expertise in PHP, Laravel or similar libraries and frameworks..
- Understanding of front-end technologies, with a preference for experience in Vue.js or other front-end JavaScript frameworks.
- Proficiency in containerized development and deployment processes.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to help lead a team/project to completion with little or no supervision.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare information exchange standards, with specific expertise in HL7, X12, and FHIR
Job Responsibilities & Duties
- Web Application Development: Design, develop, and maintain web applications using PHP, with a primary focus on Laravel.
- Front-end Development: Collaborate with front-end developers to implement user interfaces using Vue.js or other relevant JavaScript frameworks.
- Containerized Development: Work with containerization technologies to streamline development and deployment processes, ensuring consistency across environments.
- Code Optimization: Continuously optimize code for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and other developers, to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for code, development processes, and application architecture.
