About the role
- We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Level I) to help design, build, and optimize mission-critical systems. This is a full-stack role with an emphasis on backend and data-layer expertise — including Node.js, MySQL, and data modeling — alongside TypeScript, Angular, and React.
- You’ll lead technical decisions, mentor peers, and play a key role in the performance and scalability of our applications.
What you'll do
- Design and implement scalable back-end services using Node.js and MySQL
- Build and refine data models to support evolving product needs
- Optimize SQL queries and indexing strategies for performance and reliability
- Contribute to front-end development with Angular and React as needed
- Drive technical decisions and collaborate with product, design, and ops teams
- Perform code reviews, mentor other engineers, and improve team engineering practices
- Support system reliability in AWS, including CI/CD and basic DevOps tasks
Qualifications
- Curiosity, empathy, and a passion for our mission and values
- 5+ years of full-stack or back-end development experience
- Deep proficiency with TypeScript and Node.js
- Strong experience with relational databases, especially MySQL
- Demonstrated ability to model complex data and maintain clean schema design
- Skilled in query optimization, indexing, and troubleshooting performance bottlenecks
- Hands-on experience with Angular and/or React
- Familiarity with AWS and modern deployment workflows
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing event-driven systems or data pipelines
- Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Terraform, etc.)
- Built or refactored large-scale admin or data-heavy applications
- Familiarity with caching strategies (Redis, Memcached)
