Position Overview
The Senior Program Manager, Life Sciences will perform a wide variety of administrative and program management functions including duties of a technical and organizational nature to support the organization's delivery of registered apprenticeships. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, customer-centric, solution-focused, detail-oriented, adaptive, an effective manager, and focused on continuous improvement and operational efficiencies.
Job Responsibilities
Internal Responsibilities
- Actively engage with Life Sciences Business Development partners to advance the organization’s mission and achieve workforce development outcomes in healthcare, biotechnology, and related fields.
- Work under and in alignment with the Senior Director of Program Operations in support of programmatic, hiring partner, and internal organization wide goals with a focus on expanding opportunities in medical and life science sectors.
- Coordinate with internal key partners in other functional areas such as marketing and education in support of apprentice recruitment, placement, and successful program completion.
- Participate, oversee, and spearhead special projects and other duties as needed.
- Oversee and ensure successful execution of the entire apprenticeship lifecycle for assigned accounts, for all the needs of our referral, training, and hiring partners.
- Liaise with internal teams and employers to define program requirements. Participate in opportunity feasibility assessments as a program operations subject matter expert and develop scopes of work (SOWs) to address employer talent development needs.
- Analyze, manage, and update candidate, apprentice, and employer data, including, but not limited to performance, completion, retention, and compliance data for state and federal reporting systems, and other internal systems as needed.
- Maintain file integrity and confidentiality by monitoring records and assuring compliance.
- Document existing processes and lead system and process improvements.
- Manage, enhance, and develop tools, assets, and reports to support data management.
External Responsibilities
- Understand, articulate, champion and advocate for the value of registered apprenticeship in the life sciences, healthcare, and related sectors, advocating for its benefits in strengthening workforce pipelines.
- Work with key stakeholders at employer organizations to educate and prepare all involved parties for the successful implementation of the entire lifecycle of a registered apprenticeship program.
- Respond to candidate, apprentice, training provider, and employer inquiries as needed.
- Coordinate, facilitate, liaise, and participate in hiring partner, apprentice, community partner and training provider internal and external events as needed.
- Communicate with community-based organizations to recruit for specific opportunities and provide support to Apprenti’s Strategic Sourcing Manager as needed.
Key Skills & Competencies
- At least 7 years of demonstrated success in program or account management in a cooperative team environment.
- Life Science, Biology, Biotechnology, or similar degree/training (healthcare, food science, manufacturing, etc.) preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience as a successful team lead or manager accountable for program success.
- Strong working knowledge of Salesforce.
- Balanced strategic thinking and attention to detail, to ensure accurate and timely program implementation.
- Proven ability to drive consensus with external and internal stakeholders in a complex operational environment.
- Polished communication skills; speaks and writes clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles, gets messages across that have the desired effect.
- Presentation skills; able to develop and effectively present information in formal and informal settings to groups, key decision makers, and senior leaders.
- Experience partnering with military and/or diverse populations, accelerated learning platforms and/or education or apprenticeship programs.
- Self-motivated, with a high level of initiative and ability to operate effectively with minimal day-to-day supervision.
- High integrity and trustworthiness; maintains confidentiality and privacy, admits mistakes, and meets commitments.
- Ability to travel on occasion for recruitment and community outreach events.
Physical Duties & Work Environment
- Remote work in a largely virtual environment.
- Ability to sit/stand at a computer for extended periods of time.
- Ability to take phone and video calls throughout the day with internal and external clients.
- Ability to actively work without frequent interruption or distraction during standard business hours in the time zone of residence, with some flexibility to work outside of standard hours on occasion.
What We Offer
Apprenti pays a gross annualized base salary range for this position between $80,000 and $95,000 based on qualifications, skills, experience, company values, and culture alignment. Additionally, we offer the following key benefits for this full-time role:
