The Role
As a Senior Product Designer at FireHydrant, you will craft intuitive, accessible, and visually compelling experiences that help engineering teams navigate their toughest reliability challenges. Your work will have direct impact on how teams manage incidents, directly contributing to our mission of empowering visionary engineering teams. Working in our fully remote environment, you'll collaborate across disciplines to shape the future of reliability while growing your own career through intentional development and meaningful feedback.
What You'll Do
- Design and launch impactful products and features by collaborating closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to define problems, map user flows, and prototype solutions.
- Foster an environment of trust and continuous improvement through transparent collaboration with your Engineering and Product teammates.
- Drive an iterative, customer-focused approach by sharing work in progress, gathering feedback, testing with users, and refining designs based on real-world insights.
- Support engineers with front-end development contributions while helping shape our technical direction.
- Evolve our design system by creating and refining reusable components that enhance both user experience and developer efficiency.
- Lead design and feedback sessions across the team and with users, ensuring diverse perspectives are incorporated.
- Champion user needs through research, feedback, and testing, building empathy that informs better product decisions.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of product design experience with a track record of shipping high-quality products with in-house teams.
- Strong user experience skills—you can transform complex technical challenges into clear, consistent, and intuitive solutions.
- Collaborative mindset—you partner effectively with engineers and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to express ideas through multiple mediums, including sketches, wireframes, prototypes, and code.
- Proficiency in Figma, with curiosity to explore new tools and technologies that enhance our design process.
- Comfort in technical environments—experience with developer tools is valuable but not required.
- Hands-on experience with production codebases—you can navigate GitHub, JavaScript, and React files confidently.
- Excellent communication skills—you clearly convey design decisions and ideas to teammates and stakeholders.
- Growth orientation—you're open to feedback, ask thoughtful questions, and actively help teammates develop.
- Data-driven decision-making—you define success metrics, implement feedback, and iterate to improve outcomes.

Compensation
The base salary for this role is $210,000.00 per year, plus competitive equity. This compensation package reflects our commitment to transparent pay practices and ensuring your success grows with ours. In addition to base salary, you'll receive our comprehensive benefits package including healthcare coverage, parental leave, and 401(k) matching.
