Senior Principal Software Engineer

• Accountabilities:
• Lead and architect cross-functional projects, guiding teams to deliver scalable, reliable software solutions.
• Conduct technical discussions, design, and implement solutions with a focus on high availability, performance, and maintainability.
• Promote standard development practices including test-driven development, design patterns, and idiomatic syntax.
• Scope, decompose, and organize complex projects, delegate tasks, and coordinate teammates for timely completion.
• Monitor analytics and trace bugs across the full software stack, including OS, libraries, virtual machines, and compilers.
• Provide operational support and engineering oversight for large distributed applications.
• Advocate for and support a culture of inclusion, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the engineering organization.
• Requirements:
• 10+ years of engineering experience with proven success in building scalable, publicly-facing web applications.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
• Hands-on expertise in SQL, Postgres, Java, Go (Golang), and/or Node.js, with deep knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and modern web/cloud technologies.
• Demonstrated experience leading technical discussions, evaluating, and designing complex solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively sharing strategy, technical direction, and priorities.
• Proven ability to mentor and lead teams, fostering growth in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
• Experience working in startup or early-stage company environments is highly desirable.
