Senior Motion Designer

This role sits at the intersection of creativity, storytelling, and highly regulated medical communications, where motion design plays a critical role in translating complex healthcare science into clear, compelling visual narratives. You will lead end-to-end creative execution across long-form projects that require both conceptual thinking and hands-on animation expertise. Working in a fast-paced, review-heavy environment, you will navigate rigorous med-legal approval cycles while maintaining a consistently high creative standard. This position offers the opportunity to own projects from concept to delivery, shaping visual direction and motion systems that influence healthcare communication programs. You will act as both creative lead and individual contributor, trusted to make real-time decisions that balance innovation with precision. The environment is highly collaborative yet self-directed, requiring strong ownership and comfort working through extended project timelines with sustained engagement.

Accountabilities:

Lead concept development and translate briefs into clear visual direction through mood boards, style frames, and storytelling approaches
Design assets and storyboards across multiple project tiers, ensuring clarity of narrative and design hierarchy
Produce high-quality animation work that communicates complex scientific and healthcare information effectively
Manage end-to-end motion design execution across long project cycles, including heavy involvement during med-legal review phases
Serve as the primary creative point of contact, resolving design and production challenges independently
Make real-time creative decisions, balancing innovation, constraints, and project requirements
Collaborate closely across pre-production and production stages to ensure consistency and execution quality

Requirements:

Senior-level experience in motion design with a strong portfolio demonstrating range across complex projects
Expertise in concept development, storytelling, asset creation, and storyboard design for motion work
Strong animation skills with the ability to produce polished, purposeful, and engaging visual content
Experience in video editing and pre-production/production workflows (preferred but not required)
Ability to operate independently, own projects end-to-end, and manage ambiguity in creative environments
Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate and present visual ideas clearly
High attention to detail with a passion for craft and continuous skill development
Experience working within structured review processes or regulated industries is a plus
