In this role, you will lead high-impact philanthropic initiatives, cultivating and managing relationships with high-net-worth individuals and strategic partners to generate transformational funding. You will be a key ambassador in your region, translating organizational impact into compelling narratives and creating meaningful engagement opportunities. The role involves end-to-end stewardship of major gifts, from prospecting and cultivation to closing and long-term relationship management. You will design and execute targeted engagement strategies, leveraging data and insights to maximize donor impact. Success in this position requires a blend of strategic thinking, exceptional relationship-building skills, and operational excellence, operating autonomously in a fast-paced, high-trust environment. You will collaborate closely with senior leadership and influence the philanthropic ecosystem, making a tangible difference in addressing global challenges.
Accountabilities:- Own and grow a major giving portfolio, managing six- and seven-figure gifts while opening new doors with founders, investors, and tech leaders.
- Prospect systematically using research, warm introductions, and curated events to build and maintain a high-quality pipeline.
- Serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership, supporting key donor conversations and organizational philanthropic strategy.
- Design and host high-impact events, micro-salons, and community gatherings to foster engagement and visibility.
- Build repeatable Bay Area partnerships and channels that generate donors and strengthen the organization’s presence in the philanthropic ecosystem.
- Translate program impact into founder- and investor-friendly briefs, presentations, and proposals tailored to technical and executive audiences.
- Operate with data-driven rigor, maintaining CRM hygiene, testing initiatives, and measuring results to optimize engagement strategies.
Requirements:
- Proven experience managing high-value philanthropic or business development portfolios, with a history of securing six- and seven-figure commitments.
- Deep understanding of the Bay Area tech ecosystem, including founders, investors, and community influencers.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of translating complex impact data into compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to operate autonomously in fast-paced, outcome-driven environments.
- Demonstrated emotional intelligence, problem-solving abilities, and capacity to foster inclusivity and high-trust relationships.
- Experience hosting and curating high-signal events, salons, or community programs that engage high-net-worth and technical audiences.
- Comfort with CRM systems, data analysis, and pipeline management to drive repeatable results.
- Preferred:
- Personal or professional experience in low-income or historically marginalized communities.
- Background in philanthropy consulting, major gifts fundraising, family office/DAF advisory, or enterprise sales and business development.
