Position Summary:

The Senior Manager of Data Analytics will lead a growing team responsible for transforming complex data into actionable insights that improve reimbursement performance, optimize operational processes, and ensure compliant, accurate billing across all Guardant Health services.

In this strategic leadership role, you will guide the design and implementation of an analytics strategy, develop business-critical metrics and reporting, and partner closely with reimbursement operations, revenue cycle, product, engineering, and finance. You will mentor a team of analysts while driving a data‑centric culture focused on performance, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Your work will directly support Guardant’s mission of conquering cancer with data by ensuring that every eligible test is reimbursed fully, accurately, and compliantly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy:

  • Lead the development of a Reimbursement Analytics roadmap, including dashboards, automation, predictive models, and business applications.
  • Oversee analytics that identify reimbursement trends, payor behaviors, denial patterns, billing compliance gaps, and operational improvement opportunities.
  • Partner with Reimbursement leadership to translate business goals into measurable KPIs and data‑driven strategies.
  • Serve as the primary analytics advisor to senior leadership for reimbursement performance, forecast modeling, and scenario analysis.

Team Development & Management

  • Directly manage and mentor a team of analysts, providing guidance on methodologies, prioritization, and professional growth.
  • Establish standards for analytical rigor, documentation, data quality, and stakeholder communication.
  • Coordinate workload planning, project intake, and cross‑departmental requests.

Analytics, Reporting, and Insight Generation

  • Oversee the creation, automation, and enhancement of dashboards and reports in Tableau, Salesforce, and internal billing/lab systems.
  • Lead advanced analytics initiatives—including segmentation, trend analysis, root‑cause analysis, and payor behavior modeling—to support operational and financial decision‑making.
  • Ensure appropriate analytics support for Medicare compliance, including validation that Guardant tests meet Medicare billing criteria.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with software engineering, data engineering, and BI teams to enhance data pipelines, improve data availability, and introduce new datasets into analytical workflows.
  • Collaborate with Compliance, Finance, and Legal on data needs related to audits, policy updates, and regulatory changes.
  • Drive requirements gathering and user acceptance testing (UAT) for enhancements to Salesforce, Tableau dashboards, and billing/automation tools.

Data Quality, Systems, and Governance

  • Develop and monitor controls for data integrity across reimbursement datasets.
  • Establish documentation standards, QA processes, and change‑management practices for analytics products.
  • Work closely with IT and data teams to ensure secure, compliant handling of sensitive patient and billing information.

Required​ Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in data analytics, with at least 3 years leading teams or managing cross‑functional analytical projects.
  • Strong background in healthcare revenue cycle, reimbursement analytics, or related healthcare financial operations.
  • Expertise in analyzing complex, diverse datasets to uncover patterns, risks, and performance opportunities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Tableau, with demonstrated ability to design scalable, automated dashboards.
  • Experience with SQL, Salesforce, and BI/automation tools.
  • Exceptional communication skills with ability to present insights to executives and operational audiences alike.


Hybrid Work Model: This section is applicable to onsite employees who are eligible for hybrid work location as specified by management and related policies.  Guardant has defined days for in-person/onsite collaboration and work-from-home days for individual-focused time. All U.S. employees who live within 50 miles of a Guardant facility will be required to be onsite on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. We have found aligning our scheduled in-office days allows our teams to do the best work and creates the focused thinking time our innovative work requires. The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. This range does not include benefits or, if applicable, bonus, commission, or equity. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, education, job-related skills, job duties, and business need.

Other US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $79,390 - $109,140
If the role is performed in Colorado, the pay range for this job is: $84,060 - $115,560


Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment. Majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however, there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory environment. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
