This role is a key leadership position responsible for strengthening and overseeing compliance programs across a diverse portfolio of pet health and insurance services. You will play a central role in identifying regulatory risks, ensuring alignment with state and federal requirements, and embedding compliance best practices across the organization. Acting as both a strategic advisor and operational leader, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to guide decision-making and support business initiatives. The position also involves working closely with regulators and external stakeholders while ensuring internal policies remain robust and up to date. In addition, you will contribute to talent development within the compliance team, helping build capability and consistency across processes. This is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced compliance professional looking to shape governance in a fast-evolving, mission-driven industry.


Accountabilities:
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks while ensuring alignment across stakeholders and business functions.
  • Provide expert guidance on state and federal regulations impacting current and future business strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure compliance requirements are clearly understood and effectively implemented.
  • Lead and oversee compliance programs, ensuring consistency with organizational goals, values, and operational processes.
  • Support and participate in strategic initiatives as a subject matter expert in regulatory and compliance matters.
  • Ensure the effectiveness of regulatory training and education programs across the organization.
  • Represent the organization in interactions with regulators and government entities when required.
  • Coach and develop compliance team members, supporting performance management and capability building.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in compliance, legal, insurance, or a related regulated industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in a relevant field.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks, particularly in insurance or financial services environments.
  • Proven ability to lead compliance programs and manage cross-functional stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with experience engaging senior leadership and external regulators.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including team development and performance management.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving, and remote-first environment.
