This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer in the United States.

This role sits at the intersection of AI engineering, software development, and cloud architecture within an innovation-focused environment dedicated to advancing real-world AI solutions in healthcare and life sciences. You will help design and build high-impact machine learning and generative AI proof-of-concepts that can evolve into scalable, production-grade systems. The position involves working across ambiguous problem spaces, collaborating closely with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to translate needs into practical technical solutions. You will play a key role in evaluating feasibility, performance, and business value while shaping architectural decisions for future scale. Beyond experimentation, your work will directly influence which AI capabilities are adopted and expanded across the enterprise. This is a hands-on, highly collaborative role for an engineer who thrives in fast-moving, research-to-production environments.

Accountabilities:

You will be responsible for designing, building, and validating AI-driven prototypes and systems that demonstrate clear paths to production-scale deployment. You will collaborate across technical and business teams to turn complex, ambiguous requirements into practical and measurable AI solutions.

  • Build scalable AI proof-of-concepts using modern ML and generative AI techniques, ensuring readiness for production transition
  • Partner with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical AI solutions with measurable impact
  • Design and implement AI systems leveraging LLMs, RAG architectures, embeddings, vector databases, and agent-based workflows
  • Evaluate feasibility and risk across data readiness, integration complexity, cost, security, performance, and usability
  • Develop reusable engineering assets including reference architectures, components, documentation, and technical decision records
  • Establish and promote strong engineering practices while mentoring peers and contributing to team-wide technical excellence

Requirements

This role requires strong experience in AI/ML engineering and modern software development practices, along with the ability to operate in ambiguous, fast-paced environments. You should be comfortable working across the full AI lifecycle, from experimentation to scalable system design.

  • 4–6+ years of experience in AI engineering, machine learning, software engineering, data engineering, or cloud engineering roles
  • Hands-on experience building production-oriented AI applications beyond experimentation
  • Strong knowledge of LLMs, RAG systems, embeddings, vector databases, orchestration frameworks, and AI evaluation methods
  • Experience with cloud platforms (preferably AWS), APIs, data pipelines, CI/CD, containers, and observability tools
  • Proficiency in Python and modern software engineering practices (testing, modular design, version control)
  • Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into scalable technical approaches and tradeoffs
  • Strong communication skills and experience collaborating across technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience applying AI tools to improve development productivity and workflow efficiency

Benefits

  • Competitive annual salary range: $156,190 – $211,315 USD (based on experience and qualifications)
  • Annual discretionary bonus and long-term incentive opportunities (including stock-based awards)
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage
  • Retirement savings plan with company contributions (401k)
  • Flexible work arrangements and remote-first options
  • Paid time off, holidays, and award-winning leave policies
  • Life, disability, and additional financial protection benefits
  • Career development programs and learning opportunities
  • Inclusive, mission-driven environment focused on improving patient outcomes.
