Fieldguide is establishing a new state of trust for global commerce and capital markets through automating and streamlining the work of assurance and audit practitioners specifically within cybersecurity, privacy, and financial audit. Put simply, we build software for the people who enable trust between businesses.
We’re based in San Francisco, CA, but built as a remote-first company that enables you to do your best work from anywhere. We're backed by top investors including Bessemer Venture Partners, 8VC, Floodgate, Y Combinator, DNX Ventures, Global Founders Capital, Justin Kan, Elad Gil, and more.
We value diversity — in backgrounds and in experiences. We need people from all backgrounds and walks of life to help build the future of audit and advisory. Fieldguide’s team is inclusive, driven, humble and supportive. We are deliberate and self-reflective about the kind of team and culture that we are building, seeking teammates that are not only strong in their own aptitudes but care deeply about supporting each other's growth.
As an early stage start-up employee, you’ll have the opportunity to build out the future of business trust. We make audit practitioners’ lives easier by eliminating up to 50% of their work and giving them better work-life balance. If you share our values and enthusiasm for building a great culture and product, you will find a home at Fieldguide.
At Fieldguide, we’re building the AI-first platform for advisory and audit firms. That same philosophy extends to how we run IT: fast, secure, and automation-driven. As the first full time IT hire, you’ll design and scale the systems, tools, and processes that keep our people productive and our business secure.
You’ll report to our CTO and partner closely with Engineering, Operations, and People Ops to ensure every Fieldguide employee has a frictionless experience with technology, from onboarding to daily workflows. This is a hybrid position based in our San Francisco office.
We move quickly and expect our IT to move just as fast, embracing automation, AI, and tooling to replace manual work and keep us scaling efficiently.
Establish IT as a core business function with clear processes, documentation, and metrics that scale with company growth.
Manage the full lifecycle of employee devices (procurement, setup, inventory, refresh cycles, and support), with a focus on automation and self-service.
Own identity and access management across core SaaS apps (Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, etc.), delivering a seamless onboarding and offboarding experience.
Implement and manage SSO/identity solutions, with automated workflows for provisioning, access audits, and role-based controls.
Integrate business systems and SaaS tools, leveraging APIs and scripting to eliminate friction and manual tasks.
Help automate IT and security controls that balance speed and compliance (SOC 2, ISO 27001).
Partner with our Platform and Infrastructure teams to support logging and monitoring across business systems.
Serve as a hands-on resource for IT helpdesk support, supporting a globally distributed workforce.
Constantly look for opportunities to bring AI and automation into IT workflows to improve speed, reduce risk, and enhance the employee experience.
~5+ years of experience in SaaS or high-growth technology companies is preferred. We care less about how long you’ve worked and more about how you think about leveraging AI and technology to impact a scaling workforce.
Proven ability to own IT independently while designing scalable, automation-first programs.
Deep experience with enterprise SaaS environments (Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, Notion, Rippling, etc.).
AI-native mindset. Comfortable with coding and scripting in tools like Cursor, and Claude Code for automations and integrations.
Experience with identity and access management (IAM, SAML/SCIM).
Familiarity with security/compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO) and how IT plays a role in meeting them.
Exceptional communicator with a people-first mindset: you enjoy working with people and helping teammates move faster.
Excited to shape IT in a company where AI + automation are the default and “fast” is a company value.
Built or scaled IT functions in an early-stage or high-growth startup environment.
Experience with, or strong interest in security and compliance at an enterprise-scale vertical AI and SaaS company.
Background in software engineering, or a desire to grow technical depth in this area.
Experience supporting distributed teams and global, multi-geo operations.
