This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Insurance Defense Attorney in the United States.

This role offers an experienced attorney the opportunity to manage complex insurance defense cases from inception through trial or arbitration. You will take ownership of your caseload, handle discovery, draft and argue motions, conduct depositions, and participate in settlement negotiations and trial preparation. The position provides meaningful client interaction, strategic responsibility, and exposure to a variety of challenging litigation matters. You will work independently while collaborating with clients, carriers, and opposing counsel to achieve successful outcomes. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and proactive legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment and is looking to advance their career in civil litigation. Remote flexibility is offered, with occasional on-site requirements.


Accountabilities:
  • Manage a full caseload independently, from case intake to trial or arbitration.
  • Draft, file, and argue dispositive and other key motions.
  • Conduct depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
  • Develop case strategy and oversee discovery processes.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, insurance carriers, and opposing counsel.
  • Participate in settlement negotiations, mediations, and trial preparation.
  • Ensure compliance with insurance carrier billing guidelines and reporting requirements.

Requirements:

  • Active member in good standing with the State Bar of California.
  • 8–10 years of civil litigation experience, with a strong background in insurance defense.
  • Proven experience taking and defending depositions.
  • Demonstrated legal research and writing proficiency.
  • Strong understanding of civil litigation processes, motions practice, and trial preparation.
  • Detail-oriented, articulate, collaborative, and able to perform under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent client communication and negotiation skills.

  • Base salary range: $170,000–$195,000, plus performance-based compensation.
