Senior Instructional Design Specialist

Join AIR as a Senior Instructional Design Specialist, a leadership role supporting the USAID-funded Famine Early Warning Systems Network (FEWS NET) 7, Pillar 2, Data, Learning, and Communications Hub. This position plays a pivotal role in advancing the Hub’s learning strategy, overseeing the design and implementation of high-impact learning solutions, and mentoring a team of learning professionals. font-size: 12pt;">Develop and implement FEWS NET learning strategy following accepted adult learning pedagogy.</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Manage and administer FEWS NET Moodle-based Learning Management System (LMS).</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Manage LMS user outreach, access, permissions, and communications.</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Produce engaging content using an authoring tool like Articulate Storyline and Rise360.</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Edit and produce video and audio content using audio/visual tools like Adobe Premiere and Adobe Audition.</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Collaborate with FEWS NET Pillar teams to leverage existing training content, identify additional needs, and produce on-demand and instructor-led coursework.</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Track platform metrics and integrate them into performance reporting.   Product Development Leadership</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Collaborate with FEWS NET staff to develop and refine consistently high</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">quality learning products and events</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Develop guidance and provide ongoing support for:</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Content development and flow</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Use of standard language</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Making complex technical concepts accessible to wider audiences</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Support active use of learning products across FEWS NET</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Work with FEWS NET teams to connect technical staff and enhance relationships to bolster knowledge sharing and forge common ground and language</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Develop clear, accessible messaging on technical topics relevant to the Hub’s mission to share data and information with wider public audiences. </li></ul><h4>Qualifications:</h4>Education, Knowledge, and Experience:<ul><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Bachelor’s  in training and development, course planning, online learning media creation, or related field.</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Minimum 8 years of experience</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Within those years, must have management experience that includes identifying technical requirements, writing scopes of work, and managing specific short-term technical experts or subcontractors</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">4-5 years experience with the following:<ul><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Audio/visual production applications</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">eLearning authoring tools like Articulate Storyline</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Managing an LMS similar to Moodle</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Developing curricula and course planning</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Proven experience developing and delivering learning strategies and content focused on adult learning in technical fields is a plus but not required</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Background in international development and government contracting is a plus but not required  </li></ul></li></ul>Skills:<ul><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Proficiency with Google Workplace</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;
