Position Summary

MedTech Orthopaedics is recruiting for a Senior Installation Project Manager.  In this role you will serve as the key interface for planning and managing the customer preparation process for all capital equipment.  Manage each new equipment installation, equipment relocation, or equipment return in relation to planning, construction and equipment deliveries as well as providing on going projections for site ready date, equipment delivery date, and forecasted installation completion dates.  Provide direction and mentoring to Installation Project Managers.

Key Responsibilities

•    Review and verify capital equipment system and site records, received via Salesforce following the MedTech Orthopaedics Sales Team site evaluation process, with MedTech Orthopaedics Sales Representatives and External Customer Contacts. Ensure that site readiness requirements and proper turnaround time expectations are set with both external customer and internal customer, that customer expectations are noted, and that customers are aware of installation project management processes from the point of initial IPM contact through to equipment delivery and installation.

•    Forecast revenue timing for projects within your sales regions.  Obtain customer acceptance of understanding for MedTech Orthopaedics Site readiness criteria.  Manage MedTech Orthopaedics and Customer/Contractor established timelines to ensure established timeframes and site readiness dates are met. Ensure equipment is not delivered until the site meets minimum site readiness standards.  Escalate any challenges in site readiness to Senior Manager, Service Sales and Commercial, as well as Sales & Service Management prior to equipment delivery.

•    Manage equipment backlog to accelerate the order to cash cycle of the backlog while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. Notify Senior Manager, Service Sales and Commercial of equipment backlog without clear path to installation and revenue.

•    Coordinate and participate in internal pre- and post-installation meetings to ensure all sales order issues are identified and site preparation is completed to MedTech Orthopaedics specifications. Resolve issues encountered and implement corrective actions while communicating to all parties affected.

•    Initiate, lead, and document communication with customer/customer’s agents and MedTech Orthopaedics Sales and Service personnel involved in each new equipment installation. Includes written concurrence relative to milestones and timelines.
•    Travel to equipment installation locations if needed and approved by management; manage meetings and evaluation of Field Evaluation Forms to ensure proposed equipment locations will meet MedTech Orthopaedics specifications and regulatory compliance.

•    Direct and lead the customer through equipment delivery and installation process.  Make appropriate suggestions / recommendations to the sales team with respect to equipment location to ensure clinical functionally of the equipment as well as serviceability. Includes obtaining customer agreement on any drawings or documentation that may develop now or in the future.

•    Responsible to meet or exceed overall project timelines while maximizing installation efficiencies and customer satisfaction.

•    Comprehensive knowledge and ability to navigate local and federal codes relating to the installation of medical imaging equipment.

•    Review and/or facilitate coordination of turnkey opportunities (e.g. review Scope of Works/Divisions).

•    Manage MedTech Orthopaedics turnkey projects around capital equipment that may develop in the future as required to completion.

•    Expertly manage competing internal and external stakeholder agendas, needs, expectations, and differences to quickly resolve conflicts and progress equipment to installation and revenue recognition. This existing cross functional skillset must encompass experience within contracting, deal desk, commercial, sales (internal and distributor), supply chain, distribution, external shipping, service organization and customer clinical and administrative teams.

•    Provide direction and mentoring to Installation Project Managers.

•    Be a participant and/or provide process improvements to the IPM Advisory Committee.

•    Position may require opportunities and expectations to learn generalized aspects of service maintenance, sales order patterns, and the ability to gather and process information for development of data analytics to be used in business improvement processes and discussions.

Qualifications

Education

•    Bachelor’s degree in business or STEM field required. Advanced Degree preferred.

•    Minimum of 4+ years coordinating installation projects within the diagnostic imaging industry, or 4+ years as a field service engineer focused on complex on site capital equipment installations in medical environments (Hospital and ASC).

Experience and Skills

•    Must have existing strong working knowledge of MedTech Orthopaedics systems (SalesForce), MDS&R, third party shipping and tracking portals, and all processes required to expertly fulfill this job with limited to no daily oversight from date of hire. This experience must encompass how these systems function within MedTech Orthopaedics and you must be able to provide guidance to cross functional team members when roadblocks are encountered within these systems.

•    Required to have functional knowledge of processes developed and in place for complex coordination requirements, contacts, touchpoints, and procedures across multiple MedTech Orthopaedics Business (requirements differ between each) for Joints, Spine, Trauma, and Sports.

•    Must be extremely flexible, able to identify regular deviations from process that develop with capability to rapidly resolve these deviations, able to work under regular pressure and ambiguity, and able to do so with potentially regular cross functional team member changes that reset experience levels within the organization. Through this ambiguity you must remain the central focal point and SME for continuity and experience for the entire cross functional team in order to maximize revenue recognition within the business.

•    Experience coordinating turnkey medical capital equipment projects.

•    Working knowledge of construction documents and site development.  Able to understand site and equipment technical requirements (HVAC, electrical, mechanical, environmental) to include reading of site-specific floor plans, drawings, specifications and working knowledge of CAD.

•    Able to manage own work and accomplish objectives through others without supervision.

•    Direct experience working in environments where medical equipment is present, and in planning for and leading the installation processes for medical capital equipment from the point of pre-sale through installation completion and warranty initiation.

•    General experience using Microsoft applications (e.g., Word, MS Projects, Excel).  Familiarity with Gant charts and other project tracking methods.

•    Keen understanding of equipment power requirements in diverse customer environments.

•    Proven ability in developing and maintaining effective internal and external working relationships.
