Senior Full-stack Engineer (Remote - US)

This role is perfect for a hands-on engineering leader who thrives on building scalable, high-impact products. You will own the architecture, development, and delivery of cutting-edge AI-powered tools used by professionals nationwide. Reporting directly to the CTO, you will guide a small team of engineers, collaborate closely with AI, product, design, and clinical teams, and make critical technical decisions that shape the future of the platform. The role emphasizes both technical excellence and leadership, providing the opportunity to directly improve the efficiency and impact of educational evaluations across the country. This is a remote-first, mission-driven environment that values innovation, collaboration, and meaningful outcomes.

Accountabilities

• Serve as the technical lead for AI-powered report generation and education technology tools.
• Design, build, and scale both backend and frontend systems to meet performance, security, and reliability standards.
• Partner with AI/ML teams to transition LLM-based features from prototype to production.
• Drive architectural decisions, infrastructure setup, and enforce code quality across the stack.
• Mentor and guide a team of engineers through code reviews, pairing, and professional development.
• Identify and remove bottlenecks in development, ensuring timely product delivery.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, clinical, and AI teams to ensure cohesive development efforts.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering with full-stack proficiency, ideally with strong backend and/or frontend expertise.
• Proven experience leading small engineering teams or acting as a staff/principal engineer.
• Deep understanding of modern software design, cloud infrastructure, and LLM APIs.
• Hands-on experience with TypeScript, Node.js, React, Python, PostgreSQL, Redis, and serverless AWS infrastructure.
• Passion for code quality, scalability, and improving developer experience.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
• Bonus: experience in healthtech, edtech, or clinical tools.
