Senior Full-stack Engineer (Remote - US)

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to an innovative education technology platform that supports over a million students globally. As a senior engineer, you will work closely with founders and product teams to design and implement scalable full-stack solutions that enhance the student experience and empower universities. You’ll lead upgrades to core architecture while mentoring engineers and raising the team’s technical excellence. Accountabilities

• Collaborate with founders and product managers to align engineering priorities with product goals.
• Design and implement scalable full-stack solutions for enterprise-grade applications.
• Develop and maintain clean, efficient APIs to manage complex data and business logic.
• Optimize database schemas and queries to efficiently handle large datasets.
• Introduce abstractions to improve system performance and reliability.
• Mentor junior engineers to elevate team engineering practices and code quality.
• Establish robust testing strategies and implement comprehensive test suites.

Requirements

• 5+ years of full-stack engineering experience at scale.
• Strong ownership and ability to independently lead complex projects.
• Deep curiosity, customer empathy, and commitment to engineering craftsmanship.
• Skilled in planning, estimating, and managing technical project delivery.
• Excellent problem-solving and mentoring skills.
• Strong communication skills for cross-team collaboration.
• Proficiency in Python/Django, AngularJS, React (plus).
• Experience with ORMs, REST APIs, background jobs, real-time streaming (DRF, Celery, Channels a plus).
• Knowledge of single- and multi-tenant architectures.
• Advanced cloud deployment skills, especially AWS.
• Expertise in SQL database design and query optimization (PostgreSQL preferred).
• Familiarity with asynchronous programming, event queues, and API design/versioning.
• Understanding of software testing, CI/CD, and observability tools (e.g., AWS CodeDeploy, Sentry).
