The ideal candidate is able to recognize that successful software development requires communication, experimentation, and iteration.  On this team, you will have a strong hand in defining Alma's features, services, and architecture. The ideal person for this role loves to collaborate, has a foundation in backend engineering but is still comfortable leading complex frontend initiatives and leverages this skill set to build amazing digital experiences. Ideally this candidate is able to bridge the connection of the frontend and the backend.<h3>What you’ll do:</h3><ul><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Gain a deep understanding of what Alma clients do, how they operate, and where their pain points are.</li><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Work across the stack and support complex initiatives in both the front and backend based on team need</li><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Design, develop, and implement maintainable and scalable product features using modern web technologies (React, Typescript, Python, Django, MySQL).</li><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Improve how our clients find care through search for care, how we rank our search results, our guided quiz experience, consultations, and how clients manage communications with prospective providers.</li><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Build features to help providers market themselves and attract new clients. This includes support for updating/editing profiles, managing consultation requests, notifications,  and scheduling features. </li><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Collaborate with Alma PMs, product marketers, data scientists, and designers to test, conceptualize and build solutions</li><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Ensure applications and services meet Alma's standards for software including performance, scalability, and security.</li></ul><h3>Who you are:</h3><ul><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">You have 4-6 years of experience as an engineer with a proven history of working across the stack and building products at scale.</li><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">You have extensive experience with web technologies.
