Role Overview

The Senior Frontend Engineer will be instrumental in developing a sophisticated, AI-enhanced software platform that ensures electric vehicle chargers operate reliably. You'll design and implement cutting-edge mobile interfaces that directly support technicians in resolving issues affecting electric vehicle charging station reliability.

We're seeking a senior frontend engineer who can craft dynamic, connected applications with offline-first capabilities, leveraging the latest in mobile technology and artificial intelligence to solve real-world challenges.

Key Outcomes and Responsibilities

Develop Advanced Offline-First Mobile Experiences

Objective: Create resilient, intelligent frontend solutions that empower technicians in any environment

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement offline-first mobile applications using React Native and Expo

• Develop robust synchronization strategies for seamless online/offline user experiences

• Create intelligent application flows that maintain functionality and data integrity without constant connectivity

• Implement advanced caching and local storage mechanisms to ensure uninterrupted user productivity

Build AI-Enhanced Dynamic Applications

Objective: Integrate cutting-edge AI capabilities into mobile and web application architectures

Responsibilities:

• Develop frontend interfaces that seamlessly integrate with generative AI and LLM-driven architectures

• Create dynamic, context-aware user experiences that leverage machine learning insights

• Design adaptive UI components that can intelligently respond to user interactions and system states

• Implement advanced AI-driven features that enhance technician efficiency and problem-solving capabilities

Enhance User Experience and Platform Performance

Objective: Deliver high-performance, intuitive frontend solutions

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain high-quality, responsive frontend code using TypeScript and React Native

• Create pixel-perfect, accessible interfaces that provide a seamless experience for field technicians

• Implement advanced performance optimizations to ensure smooth application performance

• Build features that enable the mobile application to scale effectively, allowing third-party integrations

• Collaborate closely with backend teams and UI/UX designers to create cohesive, efficient solutions

Contribute to Startup Innovation and Team Growth

Objective: Be a key player in a lean, impact-driven engineering team

Responsibilities:

• Bring a proactive, ownership-minded approach to product development

• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives

• Help build a collaborative, accountable, and fun software team culture

• Contribute to architectural decisions and help shape the technical direction of our platform

Skills and Qualifications

Technical Requirements:

• Expert-level TypeScript

• Extensive React Native / Expo development experience

• Proven expertise in building offline-first mobile applications and dynamic web experiences

• Deep understanding of mobile application architecture and state management

• Advanced knowledge of AI integration in frontend applications

• Comprehensive testing approach (unit, integration, end-to-end testing)

• Strong understanding of responsive design and cross-platform compatibility

Startup-Specific Skills:

• Proven ability to work effectively in a remote, async environment

• Demonstrated experience with AI-driven application development

• Adaptability and comfort with rapid change

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Problem-solving mindset with bias towards action

• English fluency

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Figma and Tailwind CSS

• Advanced understanding of generative AI and LLM architectures

• Passion for electric vehicles and solving climate change

• Previous experience in early-stage startup environments with complex mobile applications

Experience

• 5-7 years professional frontend development experience

• Proven track record of building performant, scalable mobile applications

• Demonstrated expertise in offline-first and AI-enhanced application development

Salary Range:  $160,000.00 - $180,000.00
