Monarch Money is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support the Finance function during a period of hyper-growth. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you’ll play a key role in scaling our financial planning processes as we grow post closing our Series-B. This role blends strategic finance with hands-on execution — maintaining and improving our core financial model, owning monthly reporting and variance analysis in close partnership with Accounting, and developing ROI models to guide product and growth investments.
You’ll work closely with the leadership team to drive critical decisions around growth strategy, unit economics, and resource allocation. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to simplify complex data into clear, actionable insights that empower decision-making across the company.
Strategic Finance:
Partner with the Director of Finance and leadership team to analyze business performance, evaluate growth opportunities, and prepare for future fundraising.
Drive monthly business reviews and variance analysis, providing actionable insights to leadership.
Identify opportunities to improve business efficiency and unit economics
Evaluate the ROI of product decisions and partner with business leaders to align on their impact to company economics and profitability.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
Support forecasting, budgeting, and scenario modeling to support data-driven decision-making.
Maintain our core financial models, focusing on user growth, revenue forecasting, cash management and unit economics.
Investor & Board Reporting: Support the Director of Finance and C-Suite in preparing investor updates, board materials, and financial narratives, synthesizing complex financial data into clear narratives.
KPI Development & Reporting: Partner with our data analytics team to help track key financial and operational metrics and expand our automated reporting and dashboards, ensuring visibility across the organization.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with teams across the company—including Growth, Product, and People—to align financial strategy with company objectives. Partner with department heads to develop and track budgets, headcount plans, and key metrics.
Experience: 3-5 years of total experience, with a background in Saas, investment banking, management consulting, or a similarly high-stakes environment.
Analytical & Strategic Thinker: Comfortable navigating ambiguity, building models from scratch, and presenting insights to senior leadership. Advanced Excel skills.
Bias for Action: Thrives in a fast-moving, ever-evolving startup environment. You’re not afraid to get into the weeds to solve problems.
Communication & Stakeholder Management: Strong ability to translate complex financial concepts into actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders.
Mission-Driven & Collaborative: Passionate about building something from the ground up and excited to be a key player in our growth journey. Experience managing or mentoring team members preferred.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field. MBA is a plus.
Experience in high-growth startup environments within the B2C and B2B SaaS space.
