Senior Environmental Planner

Remote (US Nationwide; Eastern US preferred)

We help clients achieve compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) through the preparation of or review of Environmental Impact Statements (EISs) and Environmental Assessments (EAs) for projects nationwide. ICF is seeking a Senior Environmental Planner to work remotely. This position will support clients’ NEPA compliance for a variety of projects, including but not limited to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) projects, commercial space transportation, unmanned aircraft systems (aka drones), fuel economy standards, and state DOTs/Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). The position may also support NEPA compliance for disaster recovery and mitigation activities in coordination with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and state and local governments.

What you will do:

Serve as a lead reviewer for NEPA projects

  • Interact with applicants and agency staff

  • Help agency staff manage the preparation of EAs and EISs (which are usually prepared by the applicant’s contractor).

  • Review NEPA documents prepared by the applicant’s contractor

  • Review environmental components of applications

Serve as a team member for NEPA documents that ICF is preparing

  • Support the project management team for EAs or EISs

  • Act as a lead author for EAs or EISs

  • Serve as a liaison to direct technical staff on project teams.

  • Coordinate project deliverables with document production staff.

  • Monitor project scopes, schedules, and budgets.

  • Organize and facilitate meetings (such as preparing agendas, developing and presenting meeting content, and preparing summaries).

  • Communicate with clients, stakeholders, and agency staff.

What You Must Have (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in natural or physical science, public policy, economics, environmental management, or related subjects.

  • 5+ years of environmental compliance experience

What We’d Like You to Have:

  • 5+ years of NEPA experience including preparing and/or reviewing NEPA documents related to transportation (FAA, FHWA, etc.).

  • 5+ years of NEPA experience including preparing and/or reviewing NEPA documents related to disaster management (FEMA, HUD, etc.).

  • Experience with related regulations (ESA, NHPA, CWA).

  • Experience leading or supporting project management teams.

  • Experience with developing and maintaining project schedules and budgets.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$95,776.00 - $162,819.00Atlanta, GA (GA18)
