Senior Engineer, Energy Efficiency (Hybrid/Remote - US)

This full-time position plays a vital leadership role in advancing engineering excellence across multiple energy efficiency programs and initiatives. Senior Engineers provide deep technical expertise both internally and externally, serving as key resources across the organization. In this role, you will lead complex technical efforts, mentor junior staff, support strategic planning, and help shape the technical direction of the company. You will also play a central role in enhancing the company’s engineering capabilities in energy efficiency. Energy Solutions operates as a predominantly remote workforce with offices in  <a class="c-link" href="https://energy-solution.com/contact-us/" target="_blank" data-stringify-link="https://energy-solution.com/contact-us/" data-sk="tooltip_parent">six different locations</a>. Employees who reside within 40 miles of an office (except New York) will be assigned to that location, though in-office attendance requirements may vary by team. At this time, we are not accepting applications from candidates residing in the following states: Alaska, Delaware, Kentucky, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, and Wyoming. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: <ul><li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Provide oversight and guidance for engineering support across multiple energy efficiency programs, ensuring quality and consistency in deliverables. </li><li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Serve as a primary point of contact with clients regarding engineering requirements, progress, and outcomes. </li><li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Prepare and review engineering calculations to ensure accuracy and appropriate documentation. </li><li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Develop new energy efficiency measures and present proposals to clients for consideration. </li><li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Interpret and monitor relevant codes and regulatory requirements across states, identifying and implementing necessary measure updates to ensure compliance. </li><li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Lead the execution of one to two market studies or technical projects annually. </li><li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Conduct engineering analyses to assess the market potential of emerging energy efficiency technologies. </li><li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Perform cost analyses of energy-efficient technologies to support program design and implementation. </li><li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Evaluate the market and technical feasibility of measures, including their suitability for midstream energy efficiency programs. </li><li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Manage budgets for market studies and related technical projects. </li><li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Provide cross-functional engineering support within at least one technology or domain area. </li><li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Collaborate on interdisciplinary engineering efforts within at least one technology or domain area. </li><li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Share updates and insights from cross-cutting engineering initiatives through departmental presentations. </li><li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Design and deliver technical trainings focused on technologies and energy savings strategies. </li><li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Provide mentorship and development opportunities for junior engineering staff. </li></ul> Minimum Qualifications: <ul><li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">A Bachelors’ degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, environmental, architectural, or related field).  </li><li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">A minimum of 8 years’ of engineering or work experience in related area.  </li><li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Knowledge of Title 24, ASHRAE 90.1, IECC, and other energy codes.  </li><li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Demonstrated ability to write reports, technical papers, and provide technical presentations to knowledgeable audiences.  </li><li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Project management experience including budget development and management.  </li><li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Excellent verbal communication skills.  </li><li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Willingness to conduct occasional business travel.  </li></ul> Compensation to commensurate with experience with the pay band of  $102,000k - $125,000k/Annually<div class="content-conclusion">Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes a generous retirement package.
