Job Description

The Senior Director, Experiential Production is an integral position on Wasserman’s Experiential Team responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of various aspects of agency projects, from brief to execution. This role will work on management of a multi-sport, multi-venue sport league. Working in collaboration with the creative, PR, social media, digital, experiential, promotional, and strategy teams to deliver a high quality, on budget facility to accommodate fans, athletes, broadcast, and staff.

Additionally, the Senior Director, Experiential Production will contribute to the department operations, processes, budgeting (for live projects and pitches), agency quality control, project resourcing, third-party supplier management as well as continually mentoring and developing the Production team members.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
 

  • Conduct research and vet potential venues for use across multiple sports
  • Serve as main point of contact for competition venue production and logistics
  • Work with internal teams to provide overall space planning and operational efficiencies to accommodate fans, athletes, broadcast, internal and external media, and operations
  • Detail and secure furnishing for various operational areas
  • Develop and manage production schedules and labor plan
  • Research, secure and manage vendors, equipment and supplies necessary for event operations
  • Source and manage event services as needed; security, EMT, power, water, parking, housekeeping, garbage, and recycling
  • Develop AV plan in collaboration with Game Presentation and Broadcast. Secure and direct placement, operations, install and dismantle.
  • Deliver technical site plans and schematics
  • Manage overall venue schedule and operating hours
  • Coordinate partner activations throughout season
  • Collaborate with Fan Experience lead on venue flow, placement and activations
  • Collaborate with sports leads on specialty and sports specific needs
  • Collaborate with broadcast production on set-up, space and operational needs
  • Manage install, maintenance and dismantle of key programming elements, Competition Venue, Athlete Locker & Training Areas, Fan Activation Areas, Hospitality Spaces and various workspaces and training areas
  • Manage on-site inventory shipping and local warehousing
  • Hire, train and supervise event services staff.
  • Develop executional staff and travel plan to oversee on-site operations
  • Partner internally on printed and digital branded assets including in venue branding, static and animated LED graphics, printed collateral, and signage
  • Develop standard operating procedures Emergency Action Plan in collaboration with each venue
  • Development of security/access protocols; creating & executing plan based on needs
  • Development of housekeeping schedules; creating & executing plan based on needs
  • Develop and implement on-site communication plan to coordinate all on-site communications across production, broadcast, content, and sports operations
  • Set up of field/court and practice areas, as needed
  • Contribute to overall budget development, tracking and reconciliation
  • Ancillary venue and event management as directed
  • Weekly and end of season reporting.

General:

  • Responsible for overseeing and managing various large-scale project teams for events from planning through execution
  • Work in a collaborative manner with all Wasserman account teams to ensure flawless project delivery against the client’s objectives and agreed budget
  • Manage vendor relationships with audio, lighting, staging, fabrication, graphics, digital technology, venues, labor, and other project executional vendor partnerships as necessary to ensure that all agency suppliers meet Wasserman standards of sustainability, ethical purchasing, diversity, quality control and pricing structure
  • Manage the workstreams of multiple account teams and help define the team structure, roles & responsibilities on a project-to-project basis
  • Develop, manage and reconcile project budgets of $2M+, responsible for ensuring that projects are correctly budgeted for and meet expected financial targets
  • Develop production schedules, run of shows, and enforce deliverable dates key to program success
  • Responsible for building and maintaining effective client relationships, ensuring that all client needs are addressed in a timely fashion throughout the duration of projects
  • Manage and develop the relationships with Wasserman trusted suppliers and third parties, throughout the duration of the project
  • Manage project teams across multiple client accounts, providing guidance and leadership, communicating a vision, and challenging the team to achieve goals
  • Creates a positive, collaborative, teamwork environment based on the company culture and values
  • Provide leadership for account teams, including coaching, professional development and training, while guiding team on deliverables to ensure best practices with project management
  • Cultivates account-specific collaboration and has awareness of nuances within individual account teams and continually guides and evolves team process, serving as a trusted resource on integrated teams
  • Contributes to business development efforts for new revenue opportunities with existing clients and potential clients

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree
  • 10+ years relevant / increasing operations experience (preferably in the experiential agency, sports or entertainment field)
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, work on multiple projects simultaneously and achieve deadlines
  • Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the experiential landscape and proven ability to deliver projects from the ground up
  • Confidence to present and communicate with senior clients as well as the ability to independently craft complex, nuanced written communications for internal and external outreach
  • Capable of navigating tough issues and influencing those involved toward a desired outcome
  • Ability to foresee issues developing before they arise and develop a solution as needed
  • Must be comfortable working as an integral part of a team environment
  • Continuously demonstrates solution-oriented mentality
  • Lead and inspire other team members, generate positive morale
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload while coordinating with others to proactively meet deadlines

 Base salary range: $120-150K, plus bonus potential if applicable for role.
Actual base salary is dependent on several factors including but not limited to; market dynamics, location and region, experience, specialized skills/training (education), level of responsibility, budgetary considerations, tenure at the company (for current employees), etc. The salary range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.
