In this senior leadership role, you will oversee global oncology program management activities across the clinical development lifecycle, ensuring alignment between strategy, execution, and cross-functional delivery. You will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving global development plans for oncology programs, partnering closely with scientific, clinical, regulatory, and business stakeholders. The position requires strong leadership in managing complex, multi-regional portfolios within a highly regulated environment. You will guide program management teams, establish best practices, and ensure disciplined execution of timelines, budgets, and milestones. This role is both strategic and operational, combining portfolio leadership with hands-on governance of critical programs. It is ideal for a seasoned drug development professional passionate about advancing oncology innovation and improving patient outcomes globally.


Accountabilities:

You will lead global oncology program management efforts across clinical development programs, ensuring strategic alignment, operational excellence, and effective cross-functional collaboration from early development through execution. You will oversee planning, governance, and delivery of complex programs while driving continuous improvement and performance optimization.

  • Lead and mentor global program management teams supporting oncology clinical development programs
  • Define and execute integrated global development strategies in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Oversee project planning, scheduling, milestone tracking, dependencies, and critical path management
  • Ensure effective governance of budgets, timelines, risks, and program deliverables across oncology portfolios
  • Facilitate alignment across clinical, regulatory, scientific, and commercial stakeholders
  • Drive program-level decision-making, risk mitigation, and issue resolution
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reporting, and portfolio management practices
  • Support alliance management activities and governance of external development partnerships as needed

Requirements

You bring extensive experience in drug development and oncology program leadership, with a strong ability to manage complex global portfolios and lead high-performing teams. You are a strategic thinker with strong execution skills and deep knowledge of clinical development environments.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MS, MA, or MBA) preferred
  • 10–12+ years of experience in drug development, pharmaceutical, biotech, consulting, or related fields
  • Significant experience in program or portfolio management within oncology or clinical development
  • Proven leadership experience in global, multicultural, and cross-functional environments
  • Strong understanding of clinical development processes, project governance, and lifecycle management
  • Experience managing budgets, timelines, risks, and complex program interdependencies
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
  • Analytical mindset with strong organizational and decision-making capabilities
  • PMP certification is a plus
