This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Director, Engineering in New York (USA).

As a Senior Director of Engineering, you will lead the strategic vision and execution for a high-impact engineering organization, shaping the future of a customer-focused platform used globally. You will be responsible for scaling engineering teams, defining technical strategy, and delivering innovative, reliable, and high-performance software solutions. Working closely with product, design, and cross-functional leaders, you will ensure that engineering initiatives align with business objectives while fostering a culture of excellence, inclusivity, and continuous improvement. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with executive-level decision-making, enabling you to influence both team development and product success. You will champion best practices, promote modern engineering processes, and guide multiple teams to deliver exceptional user experiences. Your leadership will help the organization navigate complex technical challenges while driving innovation in a fast-growing environment.

Accountabilities:

·        Define and execute the technical vision and engineering strategy to support business goals and product growth.

·        Lead and mentor multiple engineering teams, guiding managers and staff engineers to build a high-performing organization.

·        Collaborate with product and design leaders to shape the product roadmap and ensure seamless integration of engineering deliverables.

·        Oversee the development of scalable web applications and systems that handle large volumes of data and deliver rich user experiences.

·        Foster a culture of engineering excellence, continuous improvement, and inclusive development opportunities.

·        Ensure software quality, performance, reliability, and maintainability across platforms and APIs.

·        Balance short-term delivery priorities with long-term strategic technical investments.

Requirements

·        Proven experience in a senior engineering leadership role, managing multiple teams through managers or leads.

·        Extensive experience in B2B SaaS product development, with a strong understanding of enterprise-scale applications.

·        Deep knowledge of modern web technologies, scalable systems, and large-scale data applications.

·        Track record of developing, coaching, and growing engineering leaders and technical talent.

·        Strong strategic thinking and decision-making skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities.

·        Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management abilities.

·        Enthusiasm for practical applications of AI to enhance productivity and user experience.

·        Experience with front-end (React, TypeScript), back-end (Ruby, PostgreSQL), and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes) is a plus.
