This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Director, Business Development Strategy & Activation in the United States.

This is a high-impact, externally facing leadership role at the intersection of healthcare strategy, business development, and outcomes-based consulting. You will act as the commercial and subject matter expert for referral optimization initiatives across large health systems, helping translate complex data into measurable financial and operational impact. The role blends pre-sales credibility building, executive-level advisory, and hands-on engagement leadership across multi-month implementations. You will work directly with senior healthcare leaders, including CFOs and SVPs of Business Development, to demonstrate how data-driven strategies can unlock significant referral growth opportunities. Beyond sales support, you will stay embedded in real delivery work to ensure authenticity, credibility, and continuous feedback into product and go-to-market strategy. This is a highly strategic role designed for a leader who thrives in complex, consultative environments and wants to shape an emerging category in healthcare transformation.

Accountabilities:
  • Serve as the primary commercial and subject matter expert supporting sales engagements, including solution design, demos, and strategic positioning for health system buyers.
  • Lead pre-sale credibility efforts by presenting referral leakage insights, ROI analyses, and preliminary diligence findings to executive stakeholders.
  • Engage directly with CFOs, COOs, and BD leaders to address objections related to attribution, methodology, and adoption feasibility.
  • Support development of outcomes-based proposals, ensuring alignment between commercial commitments and delivery capability.
  • Maintain active involvement in selected client engagements to ensure delivery credibility and reinforce solution value in real-world settings.
  • Coach health system liaison and BD teams on data-driven referral optimization strategies and execution models.
  • Lead quarterly business reviews and executive presentations showcasing measurable outcomes tied to engagement success metrics.
  • Contribute to refining sales materials, demo workflows, and market positioning based on field insights.
  • Act as a bridge between Sales, Delivery, Product, and Customer Success to translate market feedback into strategic improvements.
  • Build thought leadership through industry presentations, case studies, and executive-level relationship development.

Requirements:

  • 7–10 years of progressive experience in healthcare strategy, consulting, operations, or business development roles.
  • Deep expertise in health system business development functions, ideally within large integrated delivery networks ($5B+ revenue).
  • Strong understanding of healthcare economics, including FFS margin structures, APM/VBC models (MSSP, ACO REACH, TEAM bundles), and referral leakage analysis.
  • Proven track record in consultative delivery across multi-month or multi-year client engagements.
  • Experience coaching client teams and driving adoption of new processes beyond initial implementation.
  • Executive presence with strong ability to engage, influence, and challenge senior healthcare stakeholders.
  • Comfort working in outcomes-based environments where success is tied to client results.
  • Ability to travel 30–40% for on-site client engagement.
  • Strong collaboration and leadership skills in matrixed or cross-functional environments.
  • Preferred background in healthcare consulting, management consulting, or professional services leadership roles.

Benefits:

  • Competitive compensation: $150,000 – $175,000 base salary.
  • Performance bonus of 15–20% tied to customer success outcomes.
  • Equity participation in company growth.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance.
  • Traditional 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) and commuter benefits.
  • Generous paid time off policy.
  • Monthly wellness stipend.
  • Direct exposure to senior healthcare executives and strategic consulting engagements.
  • Clear career progression toward leadership of a growing services organization.
  • Opportunity to help define a new category of tech-enabled healthcare outcomes partnerships.
