Senior Designer

Wayfinder is seeking a talented Senior Designer to join our remote-first team in the United States. This is a full-time opportunity for a multidisciplinary designer to lead branding, marketing, and product design in a purpose-driven, education-focused company. Salary ranges between $85,000 and $100,000 per year, with equity and a full benefits package.

About the Role: Senior Designer

As our Senior Designer, you will lead the design function across both marketing and product initiatives. You will be responsible for delivering visually compelling, strategic design solutions that engage school leaders, teachers, and students across a variety of mediums—from digital and print to video and in-app experiences.

This role requires both vision and execution. One day you might storyboard a video campaign, the next you could be refining web pages or designing learning materials. Regardless of the task, you’ll bring clarity, creativity, and consistency to everything you touch.

We are a fast-growing startup, so you’ll work cross-functionally with product managers, marketers, engineers, and educators. A deep understanding of educational environments and the ability to design with empathy are key to success.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional design experience, ideally within education or EdTech
• A portfolio that showcases excellence in typography, layout, color, and branding
• Expertise designing for multiple channels: web, print, social, events, product
• Proven ability to translate abstract concepts into intuitive visuals
• Experience working in cross-functional teams including product, engineering, and content
• Strong communication and presentation skills—written, verbal, and visual

Mastery of design tools such as:

• Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
• Figma
• Google Slides
• Canva
• Webflow (bonus)

• Experience managing tiered review processes and feedback cycles
• Deep understanding of human-centered design principles and design thinking
• Excellent time management and ability to juggle multiple projects
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)

• Experience designing for students and teachers
• Understanding of classroom environments and education equity
