This high-impact role will be instrumental in supporting our mission to transform kidney care through value-based innovation. You will lead complex payor contracting initiatives, support our EHR platform (Acumen), and help build the legal infrastructure needed to scale a fast-evolving healthcare business. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, as well as exceptional presence and judgment.  If you're passionate about shaping the future of healthcare through innovative legal strategy and thrive in fast-paced, mission-driven environments, we invite you to join us in driving meaningful change.What You’ll Do: <ul><li>Lead negotiation and drafting of commercial agreements with private payors, government entities, and provider organizations, with a focus on value-based care (VBC) models (e.g., shared savings, capitation, bundled payments). </li><li>Serve as the primary legal advisor for EHR (Acumen) licensing, customization, and support agreements. </li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., finance, actuarial, product, privacy) to align contract terms with business and regulatory requirements. </li><li>Partner with the Privacy Officer to assess and advise on product features, data-sharing arrangements, and interoperability initiatives, with a focus on HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and emerging privacy frameworks. </li><li>Develop and maintain playbooks, templates, and guidance to drive consistency and scalability in contracting processes. </li><li>Advise cross-functional teams on legal risks, regulatory issues, and strategic decision-making. </li></ul>What You'll Need:<ul><li data-leveltext="" data-font="Symbol" data-listid="4" data-list-defn-props="{"335552541":1,"335559685":720,"335559991":360,"469769226":"Symbol","469769242":[8226],"469777803":"left","469777804":"","469777815":"hybridMultilevel"}" data-aria-posinset="1" data-aria-level="1">J.D. degree from an accredited institution; state bar passage and in good standing </li><li>5+ years of relevant legal experience, ideally advising hospitals, physician groups, managed care organizations, or other healthcare providers and/or payors. </li><li>Strong drafting, analytical, research, organizational, and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Transactional experience including payor and health system contracting, joint ventures, hospital-physician alignment, and management services. </li><li>Solid understanding of financial structures in VBC, including shared risk models, capitated payments, and outcome-based reimbursement. </li><li>Practical knowledge of healthcare regulatory frameworks (e.g., Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, HIPAA, Corporate Practice of Medicine, Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement). </li><li>Demonstrated experience delivering business-focused legal advice in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment </li><li>Proven ability to navigate ambiguity, both internally and externally, utilizing strong communication and problem-solving skills. </li></ul><div class="content-conclusion">Our mission is to reinvent healthcare to help patients live their best lives, and we proudly live our mission-driven values: - We care deeply about the people we serve.  - We are better when we work together.  - Humility is a source of our strength.   - We bring joy to our work. - We deliver on our promises. We are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout our recruiting practices.
