The Senior Clinical Billing Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accurate and efficient management of clinical billing processes. This position involves investigating complex account balances, resolving denials, processing claims, and providing guidance to patients, providers, and insurance payers. The specialist will analyze financial data, review procedures, and recommend process improvements to optimize revenue cycle operations. Strong attention to detail, HIPAA compliance, and excellent communication skills are essential for collaborating with multiple stakeholders. The role offers a dynamic, team-oriented environment where accuracy, problem-solving, and financial insight directly impact patient care and operational efficiency. This position also provides opportunities to support system-wide initiatives and continuous improvement in billing practices.

• Research, analyze, and resolve physician and hospital accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Investigate non-payments, initiate claim adjustments, and resubmit clean claims to payers or bill patients.
• Complete appeals within designated timeframes and develop solutions to prevent future denials.
• Provide patient support by addressing billing, service, and insurance questions through multiple communication channels.
• Update billing systems with insurance and patient demographic corrections; process payments and set up payment plans.
• Collaborate with collection agencies and internal departments to ensure effective self-pay collections and adherence to policies.
• Prepare reports, summaries, and statistical data; document actions and maintain HIPAA compliance.

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 1+ year of experience in healthcare revenue cycle, or Associate’s degree with 3+ years, or High School diploma/GED with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of billing procedures, insurance processes, and revenue cycle management.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with patients, providers, and internal teams.
• Familiarity with Windows environment and ability to interpret contract documents for reimbursement.
• Experience with EPIC billing system preferred.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
