This role sits at the heart of the claims experience, where analytical rigor meets customer empathy. You will manage complex liability claims for small business policyholders, guiding cases from investigation through resolution with precision and care. Working across General Liability, Bodily Injury, Property Damage, and Professional Liability claims, you will assess coverage, liability, and damages while ensuring fair and timely outcomes. The position requires strong investigative instincts, clear communication, and the ability to navigate emotionally sensitive situations with professionalism. You will collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders, including attorneys and third parties, to ensure accurate claim handling and compliance across jurisdictions. This is a high-impact role where your decisions directly influence customer trust, financial outcomes, and overall claims quality.
Accountabilities:- Investigate, evaluate, and resolve complex liability claims, including General Liability, Bodily Injury, Property Damage, and Professional Liability matters, with or without attorney involvement.
- Analyze policy coverage, liability exposure, and damages using claim documentation, statutes, case law, and policy terms to determine appropriate handling and resolution strategies.
- Conduct thorough communication with policyholders, claimants, witnesses, and third parties to gather facts, provide updates, and guide the claims process effectively.
- Identify and escalate suspected fraudulent activity to SIU and support subrogation efforts when applicable to recover costs.
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory, statutory, and jurisdictional requirements across assigned claims.
- Apply strong negotiation and evaluation skills to achieve fair, timely, and accurate claim settlements.
- Maintain high standards of documentation, accuracy, and customer service throughout the claim lifecycle.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience handling liability claims involving bodily injury, including coverage analysis, investigation, and end-to-end claims resolution.
- Strong expertise in injury evaluation, liability assessment, and negotiation within insurance claims environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex claim decisions clearly and empathetically.
- Strong analytical, investigative, and decision-making abilities in high-pressure situations.
- Experience working with policy language, legal frameworks, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Ability to manage sensitive conversations with professionalism, empathy, and customer focus.
- Texas Independent Adjuster License (or ability to obtain promptly).
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while managing multiple complex cases simultaneously.
