Senior Backend Engineer

Accountabilities:

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will:

Own backend systems and infrastructure end-to-end, from design through deployment and scaling.
Build performant, reliable APIs and services that power mission-critical financial products.
Design and implement scalable architectures on cloud platforms such as AWS using Node (TypeScript).
Make pragmatic tradeoffs between speed, reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
Ship production code frequently while maintaining high standards for code quality.
Establish and promote technical patterns and best practices within the engineering team.
Collaborate effectively with product engineers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to drive outcomes.

Requirements:

Candidates should have:

5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong backend focus.
Proven experience building and scaling production systems on Node and AWS.
Proficiency in TypeScript (or equivalent experience with backend languages).
Deep understanding of system performance, reliability, and scalability principles.
Ability to make thoughtful architectural decisions in ambiguous and evolving environments.
Strong ownership mentality and experience delivering projects independently under tight deadlines.
Familiarity with leveraging AI-assisted development tools to accelerate output while maintaining quality.
Track record of shipping reliable, high-performance systems at scale.
Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills in a high-intensity, fast-paced environment.
