Our light-wood volumetric modular buildings are produced in our Andover, MA, microfactory, with a growing pipeline in New England and beyond. We own the client journey from design to key handover and our team spans architecture, robotics, design engineering, factory operations, and field delivery. Your mission is to lead architectural projects from inception through delivery, while helping to build the processes and systems of a best in class design organization.
We are seeking a Senior Architect for a hands-on leadership role that will focus on project management and strengthening Reframe’s internal Project Delivery infrastructure. This role will focus on active projects, and include coaching and mentoring a team of designers to create best-in-class project delivery tools and processes. Manage architectural projects from concept design through factory production and final site integration. Develop project schedules, track and manage deliverables.
Understand client requirements and manage client touch points throughout the project lifecycle. Work closely with the Field Operations Project Managers to track milestones.
Collaborate with our pre-construction team to ensure accuracy in project scope and estimate.
Serve as a primary point of contact for third party engineers. Review consultant drawings for alignment with Reframe’s building system and ensure coordination across project documentation.
Prepare and/or review project deliverables for modular and jurisdictional permit submissions.
Ensure projects are in compliance with all applicable state and local building codes. Build knowledge of code requirements across relevant construction types and jurisdictions as Reframe grows.
Collaborate with the DFMA team to ensure project designs and specifications are aligned with the Reframe Building System.
Conduct factory and site inspections as needed, including First Article reviews and punch lists.
Provide and/or manage Construction Administration during downstream project phases: Design Engineering (digital twin model), Factory Build, and Field Delivery.
Serve as a primary point of contact for internal project stakeholders: DFMA, Design Engineering, Factory Operations, Field Operations. Resolve project-based questions, RFIs, and technical constraints in real time.
Coordinate our modular Building System and standardized assemblies with project-specific requirements.
Continuously improve processes. Identify opportunities to improve design standards, coordination workflows, and production efficiency.
Coach and mentor younger team members.
Bachelor's and Master’s degree in Architecture or a related field.
8–10 years of experience in architectural practice or an architectural management role.
4+ years of direct, construction-related experience (e.g., construction administration), with involvement across projects from early design through closeout. Bonus if focused specifically on offsite, modular, or prefabricated construction.
Experience with construction types III and V.
Professional Architectural License is preferred. In MA, CA, VT, NY, and/or Utah is a plus.
Advanced proficiency in Revit and BIM is a must. Familiarity with manufacturing-centric software (e.g., Onshape, SolidWorks, Inventor, or Catia) is a significant plus.
Experience with construction management software, Bluebeam, Wrike, Google Suite, Notion, and Figma are a plus.
Experience in small-to-medium scale multifamily residential construction is required; experience with light-frame wood construction and/or offsite/volumetric modular construction is a plus.
Significant experience with construction documentation and document control, including coordinating and managing inputs from external consultants.
Demonstrated ability to lead and organize project execution (including schedule, information flow, and cross-functional coordination) across multiple priorities.
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills, with a hands-on, "no fences" approach to working with external contractors and internal partners.
Ability to navigate ambiguity. You work effectively under deadlines and shifting priorities while maintaining quality and accountability
