In this role, you will serve as a key technical authority responsible for designing and evolving enterprise-level application architectures within complex, mission-critical environments. You will lead efforts to map system interdependencies, define scalable integration strategies, and ensure secure, high-performing application ecosystems. Working at the intersection of engineering, infrastructure, and cybersecurity, you’ll play a central role in modernization initiatives, including cloud adoption and legacy system transformation. Accountabilities:- Lead the design and planning of enterprise application and data architectures across complex systems
- Analyze application ecosystems to identify dependencies, integration points, and optimization opportunities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive architecture documentation, including logical, physical, and data flow models
- Design secure, scalable, and resilient application environments aligned with enterprise standards
- Architect and implement API frameworks, middleware solutions, and integration platforms
- Drive modernization initiatives such as cloud migration, system consolidation, and legacy transformation
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity frameworks, regulatory standards, and governance processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system integration, interoperability, and performance improvements
- Provide technical leadership in change management processes, impact assessments, and incident resolution
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise application architecture and engineering
- Strong expertise in multi-tier, microservices, and service-oriented architectures
- Proven experience with API management, middleware platforms, and enterprise data integration
- Hands-on experience with cloud and hybrid environments, as well as containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
- Knowledge of virtualization platforms and distributed system design
- Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks such as RMF, STIG, and NIST
- Proficiency in architecture modeling tools and technical documentation
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical presentations to stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in highly regulated environments
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, TOGAF, cloud architect certifications, or CISSP are a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field is preferred (or equivalent experience)
- Active U.S. government clearance (or eligibility to obtain) and U.S. citizenship required
